Today is October 6th. Alright, so The New York Rangers just called up Cole Beaudoin after a weekend that couldn't have gone better for him.

The 20-year-old forward impressed in his first two games with the Hartford Wolf Pack, scoring a goal and notching two assists in a solid win.

Not bad for a rookie, right? Then there's his follow-up performance, where he added another pair of assists against the Wilkes-Barris-Granton Penguins. Beaudoin really showcased his skills and looked like he's ready for the NHL grind. That kind of confidence is key for any young player stepping up to the big league. The Rangers have a need at forward due to Joe Veleno's injury.

By recalling Beaudoin, they're slotting in one of their top prospects, someone they got from the Utah Mammoth in the Vincent Trocheck deal. It's a smart move considering what he's shown already. Beaudoin was the 24th overall pick in 2024, and it's clear he has the attributes that NHL teams covet, size, skill, and a solid two-way game. His performance in the AHL was definitely enough to make some noise, and it's going to be exciting to see how he translates it all to the NHL. So, keep an eye out, because Beaudoin could stick around for a while. After just two games, he's made a big enough impression that you have to wonder if he'll even return to the AHL anytime soon.
