Base hands the Base app to Cobie. This has been quite the journey for the Base app. Because for those of you who remember, I guess this must be going on three years ago. I actually can't even remember the full journey because I want to say that this app was picked up or acquired at some point even.
I'm not 100 percent sure about that, but I think that's the case. Yeah.

That's like some 2018 era shit right there.

That's like 2018 era stuff, right? So the Coinbase app, right? What was the Coinbase app got converted into the base app, like I want to say a couple of years ago or something like that. And the intention was like it was going to be the home for base and all of the base things, etc.
And at that point, we still believed that there was a chance that blockchain social would be a thing. And so a lot of effort was made to turn it from like a pure crypto custody with some trading capability, like not even a lot, like this is like a wallet, right? Like this is before wallets became, you know, super apps that you could trade perps and stuff. And so it was kind of transformed into this, like everything app. They added a bunch of stuff as well, like Poskey, signing, etc., etc., all of which is very cool. But as we now know, that didn't work. The social thing didn't work. Content coins didn't work. And, you know, Jesse's come out and said, yeah, this first quarter of 2026 was a punch in the face.
I don't even know if I like that feels even a little bit inaccurate. I want to say like the last couple of quarters of 2025 probably also not amazing either.
