Dell PCs with Intel Inside are built for the moments you plan and the ones you don't. That's why Dell builds tech that adapts to you, built with long-lasting battery so you're not scrambling for an outlet, and built-in intelligence that makes updates around your schedule, not in the middle of it. Jeff Marks (1:22)
TJX is one that's called our attention down about 10% from a tie.
Jim Cramer (1:27)
It's time.
Jeff Marks (1:28)
Yeah, it's been almost straight down since April.
Jim Cramer (1:30)
This is what you buy when you feel that you see retail sales weaker. What people have been buying, thank heavens, is Costco, which has been that out of hell. Costco is great. And I know some people might think, well, do you peel some off? I think we already dropped some.
You don't take profits, Costco.
Jeff Marks (1:48)
And this is under the idea that, yes, in times of inflation, consumers are still going to look for value. TJX has great value, brand merchandise, bargain prices, Costco value.
Jim Cramer (2:00)
We know a lot of retailers are struggling here. They want to get offload a lot of...
Jeff Marks (2:04)
So, we're restricted in this, but perhaps tomorrow we can get to Nimble ahead of earnings next Wednesday.
Jim Cramer (2:10)
Right. So, be aware, the stock is barely up today. And if you do want to say, oh, listen, they said they're going to buy it, and we'll restrict it tonight. If you want to buy something ahead of them, we buy it, you know, that's fine. That's not what we're about. We're about teaching.
And I think it's important for people to understand that.
Jeff Marks (2:25)
But interestingly, though, even though there are concerns about consumer spending, Starbucks doing well, gets an upgrade at Cowen today. They raise their same-store sales growth forecast. They see margin upside from both sales leverage and the start of a $2 billion cost cut program.
So just a lot of longevity to a multi-faceted turnaround fueled by operations, marketing, menu innovations and loyalty.
Jim Cramer (2:53)
That's what Cowen wrote. What did he do? He went into a lot of Starbucks, you know, he was kind of not, I guess you call him a mystery shopper.
He realized things that were wrong.
Unfortunately, the things that were wrong were huge. Starts off with throughput, which is how much you're disgusted if it's longer than four minutes. Now, we still have periodically, some people come to me and say, Jim, it was like 15 minutes. And I got to tell you that that does not please the man. This man is much tougher than we realized and he had to replace a lot of people. But those labor problems are gone. And I think that's true of it.
