Jeff Marks (1:23)
You mentioned Intel. We bought some this morning. The stock got hit down 14% over last Wednesday and Thursday, rebounding today.
There was a story that they confirmed price increases on the CPUs. Just a good sign of demand going faster than supply.
Jim Cramer (1:41)
Remember, a triple head. We got CPU and short supply. We have foundry space and short supply. And most importantly, no one's talking about, we've got packaging. And that is, that's his strength. That's what Booth's hand's strength. Look what he did with Caves. He gave it a 50-fold increase. That is going to be, that's going to be the next big gross margin driver.
Jeff Marks (2:00)
A lot of good potential there. But maybe the biggest chip news of the day was Broadcom. It has announced it has entered a new multi-year deal with Apple to develop and supply a range of custom ASIC silicon products for multiple Apple products.
It's helping the stock rebound today. Just adds another big customer to their custom chip list. Think again like the AI accelerators. These are these ASIC chips.
Jim Cramer (2:25)
This is terrific news. Apple coming all the way back. Remember, there were people down here who were just talking about the gross margins that would be hit because of DRAM.
Maybe there's talk that it's not going to be that much of a, given the phone companies being involved, maybe not that much of a price increase.
Jeff Marks (2:45)
Yeah, maybe, and these chips could also support Apple Intelligence as well and some of the AI features that they look to put on their family of devices, be it smartphones, iPads, Macs.
Jim Cramer (2:58)
No, I did want to mention that this group is strong when it comes in, but the rotation out of retail and the rotation out of drugs is breathtaking. And I do want to take the other side when it comes to, say, UNH. I think UNH is doing very, very well. CVS, I think CVS is very good. I'm hearing good things from Merck. I'm not recommending these. I'm just saying that if you want to know which ones are just being annihilated by this rotation. Sure.
Jeff Marks (3:24)
Look, J&J was up three and a half percent on Thursday, hit a new all time high, pulling back today.
If you've been waiting to buy J&J is today to buy it. Well, again, it just hit that high last week, so maybe you give it a few more points because perhaps the market is very rotational right now when the AI stocks go up. Health care tends to be weak, a lot of the defensive stocks. So it could change day over day, but we're just looking when something is down 14% over two days like Intel. Maybe that's when we get it.
