Jim Cramer here to share a short preview of my take on the market from today's members-only CNBC Investing Club morning meeting. Join the club for full access to the morning meeting every day at 1020 a.m. visit cnbc.com/morningtake to sign up today. That's one word, morning take. I know I'm going to say something very bold here, but I was taught by the late, great Mark Haynes. Jim, when the market is 10 to 1 to the negative, don't be surprised. You're going to catch a bounce. We went to 10 to 1 negative, a quarter of 10 We are getting that bounce. It is an ugly market. The Middle East is a problem. Oil is highest since April 2004 But I am going to go with my late friend Mark Haynes, who was so good about the market, and he said, do not ever do anything other than buy when you're 10 to 1 negative.
Jeff Marks (1:38)
Yeah, and I think that's under the idea that if you do buy, maybe you recognize, maybe you're not going to time the exact bottom, but over time, some good long-term prices, as long as you're buying some quality stuff that are doing company's doing well.
Jim Cramer (1:52)
We're unfortunately restricted, but I would have said, okay, let's buy some Goldman, all right, let's find a semiconductor that we like, particularly if you wanted to trade, it would be like a Western Digital, but let's get in, buy back the Proctor and Gamble that we sold, get in there and take in some of the things that we let go at higher prices. That's what you would do in this market. Software holding on, very interesting. And I do say that, you know what, I know it seems like the end of the world, but the market reflected that too much in the end of the world, the opening.
Jeff Marks (2:27)
Yeah, you mentioned Goldman and the banks. Banks are really struggling here. Private credit woes continue. BlackRock's $26 billion HPS corporate lending fund capped withdrawals at 5% versus the 9.3% requested. We're obviously feeling pain in Goldman, Wells, Capital One today, but not feeling the pain in BlackRock because we exited the position earlier this week.
Jim Cramer (2:49)
Sometimes better be lucky than good. I just didn't like the way it acted.
