Hammer and Nigel.

Jason Hammer (0:01)

You believe these characters?

Nigel (0:02)

They're weird of us. So let's rock it!

My name is Nigel. Jason Hammer is over there. Mr. Marion County. Hey, man. Indy passed the almost $2 billion budget last night, 17 to 7

Just so you know, it's unchanged from when the mayor first introduced it. How do you feel about it? Are you okay? Are you feeling good over there? Because I'm looking at this thing, and I see the first thing I saw is that IMPD is getting money. I don't care what anybody says. When law enforcement gets money, it's a good thing.

Jason Hammer (0:44)

You're right about that, and I'm not concerned about that, because the argument we hear, and we heard it from Jesse Brown, who came on this program yesterday.

Nigel (0:53)

He's a socialist sweetheart.

Jason Hammer (0:55)

They're like 200 officers shy. Why do they need that money? Well, they need it for the overtime because they can't get anybody to come work for their police department because nobody wants to have Joe Hawkset as their mayor.

And maybe more important than that, nobody wants Ryan Mears as their prosecutor. Now, here in a couple months, you all have the opportunity to change that. You can fire Ryan Mears. Easier said than done in a very blue county.

But that's the reason why the IMPD needs that money. They're paying a buttload of overtime to a lot of the officers because they can't get anybody to come and work here because of who the elected officials are.

Nigel (1:40)

Highest paid law enforcement in the state, I believe.

Jason Hammer (1:44)

But when I look at $1.9 billion, I look at $335 million for public works, including road repairs, stormwater management, waste collection. Okay, that's a pretty good chunk of money.

Nigel (2:02)

It's a big one.

Jason Hammer (2:03)

But if road repairs are part of the budget presented by the mayor, which was approved last night, why in blue hell did I need to have my vehicle tax raised 400 percent?

And this was the argument all along. It's not because I'm bitching and moaning because I'm being overtaxed. That's part of it. I mean, let's be honest.

Nigel (2:28)

Yeah.

Jason Hammer (2:29)

But you're telling me that we can't fix the roads unless you jack up my vehicle tax 400 percent. But the money's here.

And do something with this money.

And that's why I'm so upset at some of these Democrats on the council that at first, made it look like they had all of your best interests in mind. The Frank Mascaris, the tax raisin Jared Evans, all of those guys, all those Democrats on the council. No, no, we're not going to override the mayor. How dare you think we do that? And then when the rubber met the road, tax raisin Jared Evans does what he does best, raise your taxes. And Frank Mascari, who doesn't even live in Indianapolis, who lives in Beech Grove, where they only raised it like 25 percent, not a full 400 percent like we got, he was more than happy to change his mind and screw all of us. And then he went back to where he lives and doesn't have to pay it. So remember that when these losers are on the ballot, these lying losers, these tax raising losers, 1.9 billion dollars, there was money there for road repairs, and they chose to not make cuts anywhere else. They're not going to cut the glow in the dark trails and the other bull crap. They chose to screw you. Remember that.

Nigel (3:54)

Doesn't one of those guys you mentioned, I'm sorry, I'm jog my memory here. Do they live with their parents or is that? Jared Evans. Yes.

Jason Hammer (4:03)

Oh, come on. He's the rep in my neck of the woods.

And now his parents are fine, by the way. There's not some sort of terminal illness. They're not like in pain or anything like that. They're fine. He just lives at home.

So he's one of these guys that doesn't go out and do anything in the real world other than talk about his glory days as a Ben Davis football player and then screw you on your taxes. And if you're going to refer to him by name moving forward, I want you to call him Tax Raisin Jared Evans.

Nigel (4:33)

Okay, let me write that down.

Jason Hammer (4:34)

Tax Raisin, it's with an apostrophe.

Nigel (4:37)

Hand me a pen, please.

Jason Hammer (4:38)

Tax Raisin Jared Evans.

Nigel (4:41)

Yeah, so they did the wheel tax, but then they got the $335 million for the Public Works, Road Repairs, Stormwater. Interesting, interesting.
