Chmelar Shines with Goal for Hartford | New York Rangers News

Today is October 18th. Alright, big news coming from the Rangers and Hartford Wolf Pack. Jaroslav Chmelar scored a goal in a game for Hartford after not making any impact in his 7 games with the Rangers. He was just a fourth line forward, barely getting ice time, but this performance shows he can make things happen. Chmelar's goal came during a power play, where he used his size to set up a play, then got the deflection for the score.

It's a nice reminder that the kid has some potential.

You just hope the Rangers can figure out how to use him better moving forward. Meanwhile, the Rangers have recalled veteran Taylor Raddysh, who logged limited time in a recent game against the Blue Jackets. Raddysh and his line had a decent expected goal share, even though they didn't see a ton of ice time.

It's clear they're still figuring out how to best deploy their fourth line. On the other hand, things are getting messy in Winnipeg with Connor Hellebuyck. His suspension is ending soon, and while he may want to return, there's still that trade request hanging over everything. It's definitely a tough situation with the jets needing to figure out their next move. So, the Rangers and the league are full of developments. Chmelar's growth is one thing to keep an eye on, while the Hellebuyck situation could shake things up significantly in Winnipeg. Lots to watch as the season rolls on.
