China's Humanoid Update (202606E4): Gabot, Agibot and Deliveryworker-to-robot maintenance idea

Welcome to this week's update on China's physical AI sector, with a focus on humanoid robots. We start with Beijing-based Galbot.
The company is likely to win a 32.9 million US dollar procurement project in Yibin Sichuan province. This would be one of the largest publicly disclosed procurement deals in China's embodied AI sector. The tender was issued by a state-controlled joint venture that provides integrated energy services and related operations. The procurement covers 500 units of equipment, including 380 wheeled robots, 80 heavy-duty robots, 10 robot dogs and 30 robotic retail kiosks. One point to note is that Galbot does not produce robot dogs itself. However, it has previously demonstrated solutions that allow a unitary robot dog to automatically navigate a shopping mall and carry out simple service tasks. Galbot is also deepening its cooperation with CATL. Its Galbot S1 has been operating 24-7 on a CATL mass production line for more than three months since passing acceptance testing in March. Galbot has also signed a Global Strategic Partnership Agreement with CATL's NENG service. So what is NENG service? It is CATL's battery after-sales service brand. It focuses on battery maintenance, service networks, talent training, with the aim to support the new energy vehicle aftermarket.
Next is AgiBot. On June 23rd, multiple AgiBot G2 robots entered Longcheer Technology's Nanchang factory for a six-day live production line trial. The robots carried out quality inspection alongside human workers, showing how embodied AI could be used at scale in 3C electronics manufacturing.
AgiBot also announced that its 15,000th General Purpose Embodied Robot, the Genie G2, has rolled off the production line. This follows the delivery of its 5,000th General Purpose Embodied Robot on December 8th last year, and the rollout of its 10,000th Expedition, A3, on March 30th this year. These milestones point to the company's growing mass production capability. On June 25th, Ubtech unveiled its new Cruzr Y, One-Wheeled Industrial Humanoid Robot, at OPPO's Technology Conference and Supply Chain Technology Expo. The robot demonstrated automatic unloading and stacking of material bins. Cruzr Y1 is designed to load, unload, and sort boxes and other materials. It can continue working, even when materials are slightly out of position, adapt to new production lines more quickly, and perform a wider range of factory tasks. Another company to watch is KunlunXing Robotics, a young embodied AI startup, founded by former executives from Huawei and Li Auto. On June 23rd, the company announced that it had completed three funding rounds within less than three months of its founding, raising several billion yuan in total. Its investors include Gaorong Ventures, Hill House Ventures, and Castar. AI² Robotics, a Shenzhen-based embodied intelligence company, founded in April 2023, has also closed its latest funding round. The company recently raised nearly 5 billion RMB, lifting its valuation above 20 billion RMB. Its valuation has doubled in just a few months. Finally, Moon Dynamics unveiled the L1 on June 23rd, a heavy-duty dual-wheeled-legged humanoid robot. The robot can carry a 20 kg material box uphill and lift a 20 kg load to a height of 1.8 m. This makes it suitable for industrial tasks such as palletizing and material loading. What will blue-collar workers do if humanoid robots replace their jobs?
At the 2026 APEC China Business Leaders Forum on June 21st, jd.com founder Richard Liu said the company had launched a plan to retrain its 700,000 delivery workers and other blue-collar staff.
JD has partnered with 120 schools across China to train workers in robot maintenance and servicing, preparing them for a future in which robots may handle deliveries.
