While everybody's been focused on Bitcoin's price action, it seems like everybody's missing the big moves going on behind the scenes. While no one was paying attention, a former UBS banker, a China insider, says that he believes that China is repositioning to allow crypto back onto the mainland, which he says will kick off a super cycle in crypto. MicroStrategy is restarting their Bitcoin acquisition engine. But now, with more competitors who are fighting with them to buy as much Bitcoin as possible. The race to buy as much Bitcoin as possible before the supply runs out is heating up. What happens when the big players like China and the US get involved? This is Dante Coco, Bitcoin Simply. Let's go.

For a long time, we've heard President Trump and Scott Besson say, we need to pass the Clarity Act. We need the United States to maintain our global lead in the crypto race.

Donald Trump (0:49)

We have to be at the top, otherwise China is going to take it over. And the way I look at AI or the way I look at crypto is if we're not going to do it, China is going to get it, most likely China or somebody else. Japan is somebody else. And I want to, it's a big industry. Chiptune, you could call it an industry, but it's a big deal.

And crypto is a big deal.

Nico Moran (1:09)

Sometimes you never know with this guy. He's the ultimate bluffer and he's the ultimate BSer. But you have to admit, the guy has a way of getting insider information and knowing what's about to happen next. Sort of like this report from the CFTC who's been told to stand down for investigating suspicious activity when a trader put on billions of dollars of contracts, betting that oil would tank and that the S&P 500 would rise 15 minutes before Donald Trump came out and ordered the ceasefire on Iran. Someone made a lot of trade on that money and it makes you wonder. Either way, you got to admit that the guy gets insider information. And so all that talk about if we don't do it, China will do it probably had something behind it. He probably knew that China was making moves behind the scenes. And it was confirmed this weekend by an insider, Joseph Chi. This guy ran the former Asian banking unit for UBS, one of the largest wealth firms in the world. And he says that China is getting involved, and when they do, it's going to kick off a crypto super cycle.

Joseph Chi (2:00)

When the Chinese government find a way to manage this and allow access to trading crypto, cross border trade, the crypto is going to go through another super cycle. The countries still have capital control and a lot of the rules. They are very worried about the mobs and pubs being ripped off by new technology, which proven to be the case many, many times over and over and again in the past, but they know that's not technology they can ignore.

They are using Hong Kong to test how the technology will be implemented and going to find ways to manage it. If you look at the Korean market, they manage the cryptocurrency trading very well and contain with that country and you get on-ramp and off-ramp in Korean one. And then it seems like they have it under control.

Nico Moran (2:42)

China has been watching Korea and the success that they've had. They've been using Hong Kong as a test bed and now Beijing is next. And when that happens, watch out because you know when China moves, the United States is going to move first and they're going to move in a much bigger way to assert their dominance. This will, if it happens, kick off a super cycle in crypto and more importantly, Bitcoin. You know what the craziest thing that's been going on with this last rally from 60k to 80k in Bitcoin is that almost none of it has come from the Bitcoin Treasury companies. And Michael Saylor is officially coming back to dunkle in the bears.

Michael Strategy finally tapped the markets to acquire 250 Bitcoin, which again is tiny on their scale, but it brings their Bitcoin Treasury to 70 and a half billion dollars. They also repurchased 192 million dollars of their STRC stock. What this does is this making their Bitcoin per share go up, which is the number that they always look at. Michael Saylor has been steadfast on the idea that the only game in town is to acquire as much Bitcoin as possible, hold it, and let everyone come to you when there's no more Bitcoin left. Michael Saylor preached this so much that he made Disciples. Disciples that have now gone on to raise private equity funds to buy cash flowing businesses to use those cash flows to acquire Bitcoin on their balance sheet. Disciples that say that they have a more permanent strategy than even Michael Saylor is implementing himself. Listen to Lyn Alden and her Orange Juice venture and what she's doing with the cash flows from the businesses that they're buying and it's not buying real estate.
