It's good to be here with you today. Thank you for joining me and of course for allowing me to be part of your afternoon. It's great to pray with you. And today is such a great day. Today is the feast of St. Padre Pio. Yeah. Victim of the soul, man who suffered heroically and a man who had these unbelievable mystical gifts, his ability to read souls in the bilocate and the levitate. And, you know, his masses were extraordinary. He would be taken back literally to Calvary.
So if you are suffering today, this is the saint to turn to. Really, I believe that saints intercede in a very powerful way for us. Saint Faustina promised upon her death that that's exactly what she would do. And Padre Pio today turned to him with that cross he had. Maybe it's that back that's bothering him. Maybe it's the cross, the suffering of those finances, right? It doesn't just have to be physical. It doesn't have to be the migraines or the arthritis or the chemo or the sickness that you have right now. It can be the sorrow that you carry, the suffering for those children that are away from the faith or for that troubled marriage. So really ask God to hear your prayers and offer the suffering you're going through to our Lord, united to him on the cross, and ask Padre Pio on this day in a particular way to be your advocate, okay?
We'll do that. In studio with me today is my colleague Helen. Always good to have her with us. Helen, good afternoon.
Helen (1:51)
Today is Wednesday, right? Happy Wednesday.

So what's going on? What's going on in your world?
Helen (2:00)
So Drew, I was listening to your last segment just about suffering and not letting anything go to waste. And so I would like to pray in a particular way for our coworker Mark whose mom Mary just passed away today. And I think when it comes to this Chaplet, obviously we get a lot of callers who are literally in the hospital or in ICU rooms.
And I think as Catholics, and especially through this Chaplet, we have such a supernatural perspective on death. But at the moment of death, right, and the experiences with death that I've had, it's like heaven and earth sort of combine and that person is there, but is not there and is looking ahead. And it's suffering that and in being there for someone who's dying, that I wouldn't wish my worst enemy after being through it a number of times. But at the same time as Catholics, we know that it's not a goodbye, but we're struggling with how to say goodbye. We know it's a see you later, right? Just like in the Hail Mary, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen. Jesus, I trust in you. But for anybody out there who's called in during the Chaplet, I know, especially during that hour of death, thank you for your faithfulness to our Lord and His mercy.
I would also like to pray for Brooke Taylor, who I'm filling in for today, who's traveling on her way to go to the beatification of Fulton Sheen tomorrow. And for any pilgrims who are going to, I'm sure it's going to be a time full of grace. I get to pop down there on Friday and hopefully spend some time at Fulton Sheen's tomb. But I'd just like to pray for Brooke and all the works that she has on hand and things going on in her family.

And she'll be anchoring coverage with me tomorrow. We should probably put a quick plug in for that. So, you know, the Archbishop of Fulton Sheen's event, the beatification starts at 1.30, but relevant radio's gonna have your people of prayer. We're gonna pray the rosary first. Father Rocky's gonna be leading the rosary from 1 to 1.3 Central Time. And that is 2 to 2.3 Eastern Time. And you can do the math across the country there.
Of course, at Broken Isle, then, be at the anchor desk, and we will go ahead and give you coverage of the beatification.
And it should be a beautiful, really an incredible event. I was talking to some of the people at the event, and they were telling me there's gonna be over 1,000 priests there. It's gonna be spectacular. Tens of thousands of people are gonna be in attendance. And it's gonna be a day in which one of the great media priests of this nation is raised to the level of blessed and who I know will intercede. So we'll give you coverage, and then we're back here behind the mic in the studio to continue the rest of the broadcast. It'll be a long broadcast day for me, but I'm looking forward to tomorrow. So it'll be a lot of fun. And you're gonna go to the tomb of Bishop Sheen. I should do the same thing. It's such a great thing. So you know what? I'll tell you what. I'm gonna pray for your intentions. Everyone who prays with me during the chaplet, I consider you part of my extended family, my spiritual family, and I pray for you multiple times throughout the day. I was at Mass today at noon and I remembered your needs with mine. And I will pray for your needs at the tomb of Bishop Sheen this coming weekend as well. So we'll do that. Nick prays with us today, too. And it's always good to have him. He's on our social media. If you want to get your intentions in, he's on X. Send him a post at Drew Mariani Show. It's at Drew Mariani Show. Follow me at Drew Mariani as well. It's my personal Twitter or X account. Nick, what's going on?
