Well, good afternoon and welcome. It is good to be with you this afternoon. I'm grateful for your time, and invite you to join me if you want to pray, if you have a need, a want. Something that's been heavy on your heart, and you feel your prayers are piercing the clouds. Well, we'll join you in petition, and we will certainly lift you up. I want to pray for a friend of this radio program, a man you might see on the Fox Business Channel or on television. His name is Phil Flynn, and we often tap into his knowledge and his expertise when it comes to energy, the energy pricing and fuel. And we spoke a lot with him recently about what's going on with oil exports out of Homoose, and I got a text from him this morning, and he said to me, I'm really sorry to report that my brother Dan passed away last night. Would you please keep him in your prayers? And I told him I would bring this intention to our spiritual family here. So, Phil, we are praying for your family, and we are going to pray for the soul of your brother. It's a difficult thing to lose a family member.

And I know the days ahead are going to be kind of rough. So, count on our prayers for you. We're here with you, and we're here for you, and we will certainly lift you up in prayer at this very difficult time. I heard Brooke's news report at the top of the hour, and the Holy Father, let's keep him in prayers. He's 71 years of age, and every surgery, as you probably know, is a serious surgery, especially when he's gotta go and have something as critical as lung surgery.

He was admitted to the Polo Clinico Gimelli in Italy, and they removed this small little nodule that they discovered in his lung, and they were doing some sort of routine medical examinations when they did that. But as you heard Brooke report, he will remain hospitalized, and pray for him. Pray for his recovery. He still has his travel plans made, and I really believe God chose this pope in particular for this moment in time. There's no significance. He chose the title Pope Leo XIV. Leo XIII, of course, was the great shepherd during the Industrial Revolution, and here we are at a time unlike anything the human race has ever seen with artificial intelligence, and what it's gonna do, how it's gonna transform, not just work, but the culture, and literally the world. Boy, do we need somebody with prescient views and clear thinking, and really the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. So we need this man. Clearly, I would really, throughout your day, not just now, but if you spend time with the Lord at any other time, please present the Holy Father, because prayer changes things. It really does. It has an impact. Brooke, it's great to have you with me today. Good afternoon.

Brooke (3:07)

Hi, Drew, good afternoon. Good to be with you.

Drew Mariani (3:09)

I heard your news report there. What was he diagnosed with? Do you know the exact diagnosis?

Brooke (3:14)

Well, it was a localized nodule in his lung. And as you mentioned, the Vatican released details that the surgery went well. The timing was as expected. He's now resting. Of course, it's overnight, really, right now. We're late in Rome. And further details will be released in terms of, I don't know if they're doing any pathology. I don't know, except from-

Drew Mariani (3:34)

You know, we just got the report. Nick's telling me in my headset here, he just got it from the Vatican Press Office. That's where it came in from, that he's been diagnosed with an adenocarcinoma of a lung. So we'll pray for him. And Nick, you have more info?

Nick (3:51)

Yes, the Holy See is reporting that they removed the lower lobe of the right lung using a video-assisted technique.

Drew Mariani (3:58)

Oh, that's amazing. It's amazing, isn't it? That's crazy. Thanks for good reporting there, Brooke. It's always good to have you right on top of those stories. What's going on in your world? What do you want to pray for? Anything going on?

Brooke (4:09)

A big deal today with the 109th anniversary of the final apparition of Our Lady of Fatima. And just thinking about that, the miracle of the sun and at that time, Fulton Sheen has a wonderful reflection that he wrote about Portugal during that time. There was a lot of hostility against the church, a lot of anti-clericalism and a lot of revolutionists. And people came just to prove it wrong. Some walked 50 to 100 miles, of course, many, many faithful, but also some that were really looking forward to a gotcha moment. And what happened was massive conversions and, of course, a miracle. And as we reflect on that today, I'm just thinking about the prayer for renewed belief in God, the God of miracles and hope for all those who feel hopeless and the graces today. And obviously the relationship with Our Lady of Fatima and Pope John Paul II, and that this would be the day that Pope Leo would have his surgery for her intercession well in his healing.
