Well, good afternoon, thanks for joining me. It is a delight to be able to pray with you this afternoon. We will call upon the great Joseph Cupertino, who also had some incredible gifts. We've been talking about everything from the stigmata to incorruptibility.
Some say he was a saint who could fly. He defined the laws of gravity. He would levitate and actually fly through the air. If I get a chance, I'll share a little bit more about him coming up with you in a few moments. I'm sorry, Nick, I didn't hear that. Go ahead, say that again.
Nick (0:42)
Father Dwight, who is just on the show, he has an article about if St. Joseph Cupertino can fly. I can post it on Twitter.
Drew Mariani (0:47)
Yeah, post it, send it over to me. I'd love to see that as well. So anyway, we'd love to pray with you. Feel free to join us. The number to get in is 888-914-9149, 888-914-9149. I'm in studio today with Helen. Helen, good to have you here with me.
Helen (1:02)
Hi, Drew.
Drew Mariani (1:02)
Anything you wanna pray for today as we start?
Helen (1:04)
I would love to pray for an aunt who just got some troubling kind of news about her health. I pray that she just trusts in our Lord's infinite mercy and his wisdom, so.
Helen (1:16)
Great prayer.
Drew Mariani (1:17)
All right, well, we'll lift that up. We'll lift up all of your intentions. I'll just share very quickly a quick petition that came in here. This person says, could you pray for my son who's suffering from substance abuse issues? That's always a tough one when you get those.
He refuses to get help. I'm worried about him. I'm physically ill as a result of it. If his behavior doesn't change, we're gonna have no choice but to make him leave the house. Please, please pray we need help so badly. That's a tough intention. It really is. And my heart goes out to any parent out there who realizes that their child is battling an addiction. The worst thing, the last thing you wanna do is send him to the street. You're afraid they're gonna get hurt, you're afraid they're gonna die. What would you do if that happened in a situation like that? But so often, it's that tough love that sends them on the path to healing. I knew one guy who was in a situation like that.
His mother enabled, enabled, enabled to the point where she couldn't anymore. She gave him everything, did everything he possibly could, and as a result of it, you know, she ended up having to send him out of the house. And he ended up on the streets, lived homeless for a little while, and it tore her heart out. But in the end, he found his healing, and he found his way back. And he had to hit rock bottom before he found the healing that he needed. I know that's not something we all want to hear, but we'll pray today for addiction. Let's pray for those who struggle with that, and in a particular way for the family, because a family carries their own cross. Those who have loved ones that struggle in that capacity, I know that is indeed the case. I'm praying with Nick. He's in studio with me here, too, and Nick, I know Intentions are already coming in.
What do you want to pray for, and how can people connect?
Nick (3:02)
I'd love to pray, Drew, for a relative who's in her last days with cancer, and also that she's able to receive to sacraments as well. And again, of course, if anyone like to connect on X, on YouTube or Facebook, just leave us an intention.
Drew Mariani (3:17)
All right, this person wrote to me and says, hey, I called for a 14-year-old former classmate of my son who was reported missing. I pray the chaplet with you almost every day, but this was the first time I ever called in with this intention because of the charisma that you have for missing persons.
I offered my intention with everyone on Monday, Tuesday, the following day, the teenager was found safe and sound. So I'm very grateful for that. Praise God and we will share more answered prayers coming up, but let's pray right now because I know a lot of people want to get on the air. I'll do my best to honor your time. In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. You expired, Jesus, but the source of life gushed forth for souls and the ocean of mercy opened up for the whole world. Oh, font of life, unfathomable divine mercy, envelop the whole world and empty yourself out upon us.
