Let's pray, pray, pray. I wanna pray for you, for whatever your intentions are.
Yeah, I'm sitting here, I'm reflecting on my own intentions. I have a heart full of them as well. I know you do too. And just wanna really ask the Lord in a particular way to hear your prayers today. And as we sit here, I think there comes a moment in every life when you realize that no amount of planning or personal strength can give you the peace in your heart that maybe you're searching for. Maybe you're praying for that child that's really in a disordered lifestyle right now, or addicted to drugs. Maybe it's your cheating spouse. Maybe it's that person who's struggling with pornography and you feel like, you just, you feel worthless, you know? You betrayed your loved one again, and you've given in, you know? Maybe it's something else that you're facing. God longs for your heart. He delights in your struggle, and he wants your trust. And when you place your heart completely into his hands, I think you're gonna discover that prayer's not merely asking for something. I think too often that's the way we look at it, but it's really entrusting yourself to someone who loves you. And he loves you more than you can imagine. God loves you. He loves you intimately, just in an intimate, intimate, personal way.
And he never asked you to carry those burdens alone. Crosses you have, he's aware of. He's just simply asked you, bring them to me. Believe in my mercy. It's greater than your understanding. My timing is always perfect. That's what he says. You have to trust that. So today, as we pray the Chaplet of Divine Mercy, I'm gonna open the phones, okay? You can join us, 888-914-9149.
I want you to pray with faith. I want you to pray believing that God does hear every one of your prayers, every word, even those whispered through your tears, even those that are spoken right now in the silence of your heart. God hears them. You know, the Lord says in Mark 11, He says, you know, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you received it and it will be yours. Believe that you have received it and it will be yours. It's kind of one of the secrets to our prayer life, right? It's a secret to the Divine Mercy devotion. It's all about this trust and this belief.
That's the key that unlocks these miracles in your life. Faith does not mean you always receive what you ask for. This just means you trust that God the Father is already at work, that he's answering in ways that are gonna bring about the greatest good and his greatest glory. And I've seen immediate answers to prayers, and they're mind-boggling, and you get these thank you, Jesus, these answered prayers that come in, your tumor disappears, the marriage is reconciled the next day. But sometimes it unfolds slowly. Sometimes you have to go through treatment. Sometimes you gotta work on the relationship. Sometimes it's different than what you imagine. Maybe the end of your story is not what you would have written, but it's the way God wrote it. So his answer is always perfect, though. And I want you to know that. So today, as we pray, open your heart to God and do it today without reservation.
Tell God everything, man. Tell him your hopes and your fears. Tell him your disappointments. Give him your dreams and leave it with him. That's how I pray. I mean, so often I have given God what seems like it's impossible, right? I've given him checklists. I've given him, I've asked big for things and I never limit him. You know, there are times I look back and I'm absolutely surprised at how he heard everything I've asked for and every prayer I've uttered.
You know, give him everything. Don't limit God. Don't put him in a box. Don't hold out a small cup. Hold out that big cup, right? You know, he's a father who delights in giving good gifts to his children. That's what he tells us, right? He loves to give good gifts. So with quiet confidence, let's pray, all right? And know that these prayers are heard and that they're re-echoed by all of us that are praying around the country and around the world. This is a special time of prayer. I'm convinced of it. And I think the Lord delights, he absolutely delights in the Chaplet of Divine Mercy. I'm joined today by Annie McAleer. It's good to have her with us today. Annie, thanks for being here. Good afternoon. Thanks for praying with me.
