So, the last couple of days, there's been a story about this big come to Jesus meeting that took place at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. Local mayors, local leaders all coming together to have this public safety summit at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. Now, this was organized by Indy Mayor, Boss Hogsett, and Carmel Mayor, Sue Finkam.
And I believe this is kind of a result of some comments that Sue made about a month ago where she was ripping Marion County for the amount of offenders that they're sending to places like Carmel and other places. Allison?

**Allison** (0:40)
Marion County is exporting its crime to the Donut counties, so we're not only having to pick up the emotional toll, the physical toll with our residents, we're picking up the financial toll.

**SPEAKER_1** (0:51)
So, that was about a month ago, and now Boss Hogsett and Sue Finkam were supposed to lead this big kumbaya meeting that was closed off to the media and the public.

**SPEAKER_3** (1:02)
And you remember what the response was from the Marion County prosecutor, right? Disingenuous, I believe, political points.
So, they never really offered up any real explanation, but just kind of, you know, kind of did the whole thing where he said, oh, well, that's a disingenuous comment, but never really backed it up.

**SPEAKER_1** (1:23)
No, and I don't think I heard anybody support Ryan Mears' claim that it was disingenuous. If anything, since Sue Finkam's remarks, you've had guys like Graham Rahal, who are not political guys. He's not running for office, just saying, Indy's got a problem, because he was trying to do an event with cars, and the crime situation was out of control, that even his security team felt uncomfortable, and they were outgunned, if you will. That's a problem. So you had these leaders from Boone, and Hamilton, and Hancock, Hendricks, Johnson, Madison, Shelby, and of course, in Marion County, all coming together.
The problem is, why was this such a secret?
Because the media was not allowed to cover this, and I'm thinking to myself, if the taxpayer is on the hook for law enforcement, and these types of services, I kind of feel like they have a right to know what's being talked about, right? Did Sue Finkam and Joe Hogsett finally come together? Was there some sort of resolution? Are they going to talk about better ways to use statistics? Did everybody gang up on Joe Hogsett? I feel like as a taxpayer, if you're paying for this kind of stuff, you have a right to know.

**SPEAKER_3** (2:39)
I think we have a right to know what happened. I was in contact with somebody today that was behind those closed doors, and they said it was a very, very, very positive and productive meeting. Didn't get into any details, specifics or anything like that, but I will say I talked to somebody this morning that was there, that said there are some good stories to be told and that it was a very positive and productive meeting.

**SPEAKER_1** (3:07)
So you may hear the wind kicking up at the background. So we are outside at Leo's Market and Eatery. It's a little warm, but there's a breeze blowing, man. It kind of feels good. It's kind of like when you open up the oven to check on the pizza rolls. You don't mind that level of heat hitting you in the face because there's a little bit of a breeze and you like what's on the other end. That's where I'm at right now. But to go back to this big crime summit here, you mentioned that you had talked to somebody in the know earlier today.
I tried to get Joe Hogsett to come on the show.
His people did not respond.

**SPEAKER_3** (3:43)
I wouldn't think so.

**SPEAKER_1** (3:44)
But I got the next best thing.

**SPEAKER_3** (3:46)
Really?

**SPEAKER_1** (3:46)
Here to recap what went on in that big Gainbridge Fieldhouse come to Jesus Crime Summit is AI Joe Hogsett.

**SPEAKER_4** (3:55)
Hey butt holes, it's me, AI boss Hogsett.
I thought our secret meeting was a success. I mean, nobody does secret stuff better than I do. I have secret email accounts, secret business meetings to allegedly reward my donors, secret texts to allegedly harass my female staffers, secret alibis that local TV and newspaper reporters actually buy when I go missing during riots, secret meetings with drunken floozies. I'm telling you, I'm good at secret stuff. As for the meeting, I told all of the other mayors that the best way to fight crime coming from Indy is to buy me a bottle of vodka.

**SPEAKER_1** (4:38)
Oh, come on.

**SPEAKER_4** (4:38)
I feel like the meeting was a success. AI. Hogsett out.
