**Christine Grimaldi** (0:38)
Well, I listened to the interview podcast, so you didn't have to. Thank you for that. Our listeners don't have to either.

**Katelyn Burns** (0:47)
They can if they want to.

**Christine Grimaldi** (0:49)
Yeah, sure, you can. But it's also like 60 minutes of Scott Pelley saying that Bari Weiss murdered the show, and that it's the only thing that's like it is your spouse being murdered. He actually said that.

**Katelyn Burns** (1:01)
Christine, are we really talking about this lady again?

**Christine Grimaldi** (1:04)
I guess so.

**Katelyn Burns** (1:06)
She just can't keep out of the news.

**Christine Grimaldi** (1:08)
Well, she can't keep herself from fucking with the news.

**Katelyn Burns** (1:12)
Oh, yeah. So Christine, who are we canceling today?

**Christine Grimaldi** (1:18)
Oh, should we just go ahead and do it?

**Katelyn Burns** (1:23)
Let's just do it.

**Christine Grimaldi** (1:25)
We're canceling Bari Weiss.

**Katelyn Burns** (1:26)
Again. Again.
Good God, this lady needs to go away. Hey, everyone. I'm Katelyn Burns.

**Christine Grimaldi** (1:35)
And I'm Christine Grimaldi.

**Katelyn Burns** (1:37)
And you're listening to Cancel Me Daddy.

**Christine Grimaldi** (1:40)
The show where we take a closer look at all the panic around political media.

**Katelyn Burns** (1:45)
With thoughtful analysis.

**Christine Grimaldi** (1:46)
And verbal shitposting.

**Katelyn Burns** (1:49)
If you want to support the show, head on over to patreon.com/cancel Me Daddy. My god, it's been five years. We're changing the intro. What's going on?

**Christine Grimaldi** (1:59)
I know. I know. Well, I think that the cancel culture discussion is still very applicable to what we do. But we have kind of narrowed the focus a little bit in talking about the intersection of politics and the media.

**Katelyn Burns** (2:12)
Yeah, we don't so much talk about the panic around cancel culture because there kind of isn't one anymore. It pops up every once in a while and we cover it when it does. But this show has really been a media criticism show for a long time. So yeah, we thought let's change the intro just a little bit and be a little bit more accurate about what the show does.
So Christine, exciting episode ahead.

**Christine Grimaldi** (2:39)
Bari Weiss is back in the news because she is, as I said, fucking with the news again.

**Katelyn Burns** (2:46)
For our guest this week, we have no one. It's just the two of us.

**Christine Grimaldi** (2:51)
It's just us, baby.

**Katelyn Burns** (2:53)
Just the two of us.

**Christine Grimaldi** (2:59)
You and I.

**Katelyn Burns** (3:01)
All right, let's get into it.

**Christine Grimaldi** (3:02)
OK.

**Katelyn Burns** (3:05)
That was so stupid.

**Christine Grimaldi** (3:06)
It was great. It was great.

**Katelyn Burns** (3:08)
I think it's good that we addressed it, though, actually.
All right, Christine. What did Bari Weiss do this time?

**Christine Grimaldi** (3:17)
OK, the big news in this latest cycle is that Bari Weiss has been just running rampant through CBS 60 Minutes. There had already been a number of firings, I believe, in May. And then on June 2nd, Scott Pelley was fired.

**Katelyn Burns** (3:36)
And who is Scott Pelley?

**Christine Grimaldi** (3:39)
I was going to go with a very decorated older white journalist man, but you may be able to add some more nuance to that.

**Katelyn Burns** (3:47)
Yeah, I did take a look at his history. Mostly I was trying to find some like dirt about him, but he's cleaner than a virgin's honeypot, as they say in Shawshank Redemption.

**Christine Grimaldi** (3:59)
Beautiful.

**Katelyn Burns** (4:01)
I don't know why I just said that.

**Christine Grimaldi** (4:03)
I mean, somebody's got to be in media.

**Katelyn Burns** (4:05)
Listen, he's won awards, right? Oh, that is a big white wall of text. Okay. He has won over 51 Emmy Awards, four Alfred DuPont Columbia Silver Batons, three George Foster Peabody Awards, reporting on child slavery in India, earned Pelley and his team at 60 Minutes, the Investigative Reporters and Editors Award in 1999, and the guy.
