Today is October 9th. This is New York Rangers News. Today, driven by AI, your team, non-stop. Alright, big news from the Capitals Rangers game last night. The Capitals took it to the Rangers with a solid 3-1 win, thanks in part to Boone Jenner's game-winning goal in the second period. This win came after Rangers goalie Igor Shesterkin exited the game due to an injury, which definitely shifted the momentum. Jenner scored with just over 2 minutes left in the second, putting the Capitals ahead 2-1. Tom Wilson and Timothy Liljegren also vetted on the board for Washington, showing off some serious firepower. The Caps are looking strong right now. As for Shesterkin, he had to leave the ice after a tough fall into the net. It looks like he caught his skate on the post and hurt his right knee.

He was down for a while and didn't put any weight on that leg when he got helped off. That's a tough break for the Rangers and their fans. In other action, the Kraken had a big 6-3 win over the Red Wings.

Frederick Gaudreau scored twice, leading Seattle to a 4-goal second period that really turned the tide. Philip Grubauer was solid in net with 38 saves, making key stops early in the game.

And the Blue Jackets edged the Penguins in a shootout, with Kent Johnson scoring the decisive goal. Columbus outshot Pittsburgh 45-22, showing they really brought it last night. So yeah, a lot happening across the league, and it's setting up for a wild season ahead.
