As we said earlier, this could be the best segment of the day or the worst segment of the week.
We have no idea what we're getting into. All we know are the names of people on hold. We don't know what they want to talk about. We don't know anything at all. Nigel and I are going to fly blind, and we're just going to have real reaction, real conversation. Is that cool?

Listen, I just want to say, I was listening to you guys' conversation about the crime in Indianapolis. I live in a county that's far away from Indianapolis. I look to you guys every day. And I just want to say that everybody has to take responsibility of their safety.
Get a gun, get trained, and take care of it yourself. You know, you cannot rely on the government to have to do everything for you. So when it comes to your personal safety, get trained on a gun, get a gun, and this crime will go down.

I'm with you on that, Thomas. I agree.
I think you're seeing more and more justifiable homicides. I think we've had FOP president Rick Snyder on to talk about that. Citizens doing exactly what you're suggesting, Thomas, knowing what their rights are and having justifiable homicides.

And I trust the police to protect us. I just can't guarantee that they'll get there in time if you call 911 So where is that spot in between the time you're calling 911 and the time you're being attacked or broken into?
You know, I agree with Thomas.

**Nigel** (2:04)
Let's be honest, though. It's a lot of the same people committing these crimes. If you can have tougher laws for repeat offenders, and this is where the government comes in, right? If you can just lock up the violent repeat offenders, those are the key words there, violent and repeat. You could have homicide totals 100 or less in Marion County. That's where we should be. It's been that way before.
If you can just find a way to lock up habitual violent repeat offenders, then you can get the homicide total back under 100

I want to talk about this tax on the plates.

It's going to do no good in Marion County to put this tax on because half the people don't even get plates. I have a neighbor that went two years with an expired plate. Another one across the street went a year with an expired plate. I drive all over and I see in Marion County, expired plates, so nobody's going to go get them.
And also another thing, they can make up revenue by going in Irvington and tinkering these Irvington idiots that park the wrong way on the street. They park against the flow of traffic.

Yeah, Christina, I hear you. The problem is, they're short on officers so bad in Marion County, they are hundreds of officers shy of where they need. I don't know if they can dedicate somebody to go around and just do the parking tickets in Irvington, you know? Yeah.
