Nigel (0:01)
Buckle up, anything can happen here.
SPEAKER_2 (0:04)
Oh, hell yeah, let it ride!
Allison (0:05)
Let it ride!
Nigel (0:06)
Hammer and Nigel present Collar Roulette.
Allison (0:10)
Yeah, very easy.
Hammer (0:11)
There's a scene in Animal House.
Nigel (0:13)
Yes.
Hammer (0:14)
Where everybody's depressed and they're down, and Bluto stands up and says, this could be the greatest night of our lives, and you're gonna let it be the worst. That's how I feel Nigel and I are with Collar Roulette.
Nigel's usually a little bit more pessimistic than I am. I think this could be the greatest night of our lives.
Nigel (0:35)
Little hesitant.
Hammer (0:38)
So if you're on hold, just turn your radio down. Don't swear and don't take all of our time. That's all we're asking.
Tom is up first. Tom, what do you want to talk about?
SPEAKER_2 (0:50)
Just a couple of things.
I might call her number nine because I want to take you home, and it would be to your parents' house or in the trouble zone. A little bit closer.
Hammer (0:58)
I think this warrants a little bit of context. When somebody just turns their radio on, and here's Tom say, I want to take you home.
First of all, I'll take a rain check on that, my friend. But I appreciate the offer.
SPEAKER_2 (1:14)
I will too. A couple of other things real quick.
Bill Cosby, let it crawl. That was one of those famous true things that you forgot to do earlier. So you might want to do that particular time to routine.
Hammer (1:27)
I'm probably going to pass on putting Bill Cosby on the air as well, Tom. I appreciate the effort, my friend. Thank you. Jeff is up next. Jeff, what's going on, buddy?
SPEAKER_2 (1:39)
Hey, guys. Love the show. We listen every day.
Hammer (1:42)
Thank you.
SPEAKER_2 (1:42)
I want to talk about the cheery little topic of the death penalty. Let's go.
I am far, far right wing. This is the only place I disagree with the party. I am against it.
What part of doubt shall not kill do we not understand? To me, it seems wrong to pay a guy to kill a guy who killed a guy. And I'm also a little bit worried about the executioner's soul. Does he lose a little piece of it? Does it get a black stain? It's not a job I would want. That's all I'm saying.
Hammer (2:17)
Well, you don't have to worry about a soul.
Nigel (2:20)
God is going to God is going to worry about his soul. You don't have to worry about his soul. Yeah, you don't have to worry about his soul.
Hammer (2:26)
There's killing in the Bible. There's killing in religion. So I see where you're coming from. And look, I'm not going to change your mind. You're not going to change my mind. I'm an eye for an eye guy. OK, I feel like if you take the life of someone in a violent, just disgusting manner, then the government, the authorities have the right to have a state issued execution or even at the federal level. I am on board with that.
Let's go to Matt. Matt is up next. Matt, what do you got, man?
SPEAKER_2 (3:03)
Good, good. I could say smart things, but you guys together are more clever than I am. So what I have is a question in regards to being a radio nerd, right?
SPEAKER_5 (3:14)
OK, Stan Solomon.
SPEAKER_2 (3:17)
Do you remember Stan Solomon? I from my knowledge, he was only local. He was about the time rush Rillin Ball and had this catchy jingle that my kids hated.
Nigel (3:26)
He wasn't he wasn't local, but I know who he is. Yeah. Syndicated radio personality.
SPEAKER_2 (3:32)
Yeah, he was he was he was a character.
SPEAKER_5 (3:35)
That's all I wanted to bring up.
Hammer (3:37)
Yeah, yeah, absolutely. I love talking old school radio stuff.
Nigel (3:40)
I remember that guy. My parents used to listen to him before Rush.
Hammer (3:45)
You know what? I miss Rush, man. I do Rush Limbaugh was so good. You don't realize how good somebody is until they're gone. Like from a sports perspective, right?
Andrew Luck was OK for the couple of years that he actually wanted to play football here.
But it wasn't Peyton Manning. Like you don't know how good you had it when you could wake up every Sunday and know you had a chance to win every game. You woke up on Sunday and thought you should win, and you're excited to watch the game. That's how Rush was. Rush made talk radio fun, and he made it energetic, and it made it appointment radio.
