California Primaries - Are They Going to Screw Spencer Pratt?

They're weird of us.
So hammer more primary elections across the country last night. Everybody was paying attention to this thing in California. The gubernatorial race, the mayoral race in Los Angeles, Spencer Pratt, the reality show star currently running for mayor of LA, is one of the top candidates, a Republican, kind of just his whole campaign, gained attention after he was criticizing the response to the wildfires and homelessness there in LA. His home was destroyed by the fires.

And he had some name recognition too. It was like this was just Joe Sixpack. He was one of those guys on the hills, I believe.

**Hammer** (0:43)
Yes, and so Karen Bass, the incumbent, leading with roughly what, like 35 percent, right? And now he's kind of creeping up behind her in second place with 30 percent. It's an open primary in California.

**Nigel** (1:00)
Now, keep in mind, they love mailing ballots in California.

**Hammer** (1:04)
Oh, there's that.

**Nigel** (1:06)
So this third place chick, Ramen, is her last name.
She is creeping up closer and closer to Spencer Pratt now. And because it's California and mailing ballots, we might not know who second place is that moves on officially for another week, maybe two.

According to Wall Street Journal, California's election system counts mail ballots for days or weeks after election day. So final results are still pending. So what an embarrassment.

**Nigel** (1:40)
Spencer Pratt, who is up about eight percentage points earlier today on Ramen with mail in ballots, could ultimately lose if you keep counting these things for two more weeks.

**Hammer** (1:52)
Oh, I bet they screw them. I bet it's happened before, hasn't it?

**Nigel** (1:57)
I mean, look at 2020
Last night, MS Now, they had a reporter outside of Spencer Pratt's party. His primary party. And the reporter was talking to some of his supporters. And there's a moment toward the end where you can tell MS Now used to be MSNBC. They're getting tired of Spencer Pratt's fans crapping all over liberal ideology. Take a listen.

What is it about Spencer Pratt that you just are resonating with him?

Because he's speaking out against communism and socialism. And it is a real big problem in our cities, especially in LA, where it's turned to crap. It's not an accident. They're doing it by design. Karen Bass wants to destroy our city. And it's nice to see someone like Spencer.

I can simplify it because those buzzwords are like they they they they melt the brains of like left, you know, leaning people. So let's just say it this way. He doesn't want you, a human feces to be a part of your life. He doesn't want homeless children outside. Thank you. Oh, you didn't like that.

We don't want homeless people outside of the elementary school.
We appreciate you. We appreciate you. We talked a lot about the homeless.

So because these guys are telling the truth, they may have been a bit buzzed or inebriated. That's fine. They're tailgating outside of Spencer Pratt's campaign.

**Nigel** (3:31)
Right.

**Hammer** (3:32)
They're telling the truth. And MSNOW just says, oh, OK, never mind. Screw you.

**Nigel** (3:36)
They started talking about homeless dudes treating their bodies like amusement parks in front of the kids at school. And that's what broke MSNOW apparently last night.
And I got to thinking about this, Nigel. You look at a city like LA and a city like Indianapolis. They're very similar politically. OK, they're different cities. You know, don't get it twisted.
LA much bigger, but they're the same politically. Very dark blue. So why has Spencer Pratt been able to create a buzz like this? Like he may still lose the mayoral race. Karen Bass is still the favorite. And assuming he doesn't get screwed on these mail in ballots, Spencer may lose in November. But he's fired up a base. There's a base of voters, not all Republicans, mind you. Some Democrats that are like, yeah, we can do better. We demand better here in Los Angeles.
I think that is something that would not happen in Indianapolis, and I hate that.

To answer your question, I think he's successful is because he stayed on point.
He's talking about crime. He's talking about homelessness. He's talking about drugs on the streets and those guys, to their credit, talking about homeless guys near your elementary schools. He stays on point. He's like a campaign manager's dream.
