Caleb Flynn’s Mistress Lied to the FBI About WHAT?

Tony Brueski (0:11)

Well, this is turning into quite the show, if you know what I mean. My goodness. We are going to go through the testimony, the first day of testimony of the lover of Caleb Flynn. Ashley Botner, she's been on the stand now for about a day. There is a second day of testimony, which we will in fact get to once that wraps up. But we're going to start with day one because there's a lot to get through all of these text messages. More than 100,000 text messages. They work their way through them. We got some of the greatest hits for you today. And, and this is, this is exciting, everybody. Caleb Flynn wrote a song for her. And we, we here, we took the liberty because we have the lyrics. They showed the lyrics at, at the trial on the screen. And we managed to see like the first verse or so of the lyrics. And it kind of got cut off a little bit. It was difficult to see the rest of the lyrics. So we took the liberty of going, hmm, seems like a nice enough guy.

Let's finish the song. Let's let's go beyond the, so the first verse of Caleb's song in what we created is, is his work. It's a musical.

And then the second verse and the third verse, we thought, what would you put in a song like this? Where would you take it? Based on everything that happened to you in your life. So we took the liberty of finishing the song and we made a music video.

Caleb Flynn in the music video for the song that he wrote for Ashley Botner. It is premiering right here on TRL, I mean, Hidden Killers today. So that that you have to look forward to as well. You're welcome. So, let's start with the testimony though, shall we? Then I think midway through we'll take a little concession break, get a little popcorn, maybe a beverage, maybe an RC Cola or a tab, something like that. And we'll enjoy a little musical selection as inspired by the man himself, Caleb Flynn. Caleb Flynn's girlfriend asked him what she could do to help. He was frustrated, wasn't happy in that relationship.

His response, two simple words, kill her. This is what he said to her in text. He talks about killing his wife a lot in these texts, like an insane amount. It ain't just the... Because I have heard this and I'm... I just want to address this because there is a difference between somebody spouting, I could kill her, you know, I could kill him. People... I get... Not my choice of words, but people use them and they don't end up committing homicides. This when you hear it and the amount of times he talks about it really kind of makes you start to think, this guy might be capable of committing a homicide. Because it goes well beyond the blowing off steam.

And eventually, once you really start looking at the pattern here of the communications between Caleb and Alleigha Botner here, you really start to see just how intensely he appears to be grooming her to either be prepared for this as an outcome or my theory on it actually is I think he was trying to get her to do it. I think he was trying to see how much he could rally up the hate inside of her and place that rage that he has for his wife inside of her, hoping that maybe, maybe we can get this confused early 20-some year old girl to go along with this delusion of love and devotion to me, Caleb Flynn, that maybe she'll just take care of the problem for me. I really think that was what his ultimate goal was, and it didn't work out.

It's harsh on Alleigha Botner. I do have sympathy for her. She's young and she's dumb. We've all been young and dumb. We have.

And honestly, judging from her testimony, it does feel like she fully realizes that. Now, what's her awareness of the crime? I don't know. We're going to go through the eclipse. We'll talk about it as we continue on. That text exchange that, what can I do to help kill her? That text exchange happened back in March of 2025 11 months later, Ashley Flynn was shot twice in the head, right in her own bed, while her two young daughters slept just across the hall in their tip city Ohio home. Caleb called 911 at 2.3 in the morning, claiming an intruder broke in. Prosecutors say that's a total lie. They contend he pulled the trigger himself and staged the whole scene. And Robin Drake, my colleague, who you see all the time on this show, retired FBI Special Agent, Chief of the Counterintelligence, Behavioral Analysis Program. Behavioral Analysis being the key part to the observation he made on this very program the other day when an officer is sitting there asking him about, do you have any weapons in the house? This is on the body camera. Yeah, I got a shotgun over here. I got this over there and I got a handgun. Literally does this in the console of my truck. Pulls the invisible trigger twice of the gun that was allegedly used in the execution of his own wife. When being asked about it by the gobs, we'll tell, we'll tell there, Caleb. Just like maybe you should move a fridge. Maybe you shouldn't, you know, pull the trigger twice on the make believe gun in your hand. But you do seem to operate more like a five year old than a 35 year old or a 45 year old or whatever you are. It's hard to tell your age. You've aged so dramatically since all this went down.
