There has been a lot of talk about Mr. Alleigha Botner, the mistress of Caleb Flynn. What did she know? When did she know it? Did she know anything? Lots and lots of questions keep coming up. And she's been on the defensive, at least her attorney has been on the defensive over the weekend, doing a lot of interviews. She didn't know anything. And she's a victim here, too. You know, that sort of stuff. And, you know, I personally tend to probably kind of agree. I don't know. I think there's a lot of willful ignorance probably at play here. But let's just take a look back. And I'm not here to accuse her of being involved in plotting the murder. I want to be clear about that. She's innocent. She's never been charged with anything, maintains her innocence. But I mean, when you're this close to something, you'd be remiss to not be looking under every single stone, just in case. I mean, there is still a missing weapon here.
Again, not saying she has anything to do with it. I'm not. I'm honestly not. But, you know, it's a little odd. Imagine sitting on the witness stand in a Miami County courtroom for seven straight hours. It's exactly what Alleigha Botner did. She brought 34 binders of evidence, or she was handed 34 binders of evidence to go through with all those text messages, more than 107,000 text messages between herself and Caleb Flynn, and tucked away inside that massive paper trail, prosecutors say is the story of a woman who watched a man talk about murdering his wife for months, and never once, never once picked up the phone to stop it. I think that's where a lot of the blame goes. I think that's where a lot of the weight of this case lives. Is that a crime?
Technically, probably not. I know, there's like technically, probably. I wish it was an absolute, but there will be some people who will interpret that one way and others who will interpret it another. On February 16th of 2026, Ashley Flynn, as you know, was shot twice behind her right here at Point Blank Range while she was asleep in her tip city Ohio home. Ashley was a middle school volleyball coach, a mother and by all accounts deeply loved. Her two young daughters were right there in the house when it happened. The bullets followed parallel paths. Investigators found nine millimeter shell casings resting near her pillows. Ashley never even had a chance to defend herself. There were no defensive wounds at all. She was sleeping. She didn't even know what happened. Dr. Brian Casto, the forensic pathologist, ruled her death a homicide caused by multiple gunshot wounds to the head. And BCI agent David Hammond testified that the entire scene had been staged to look like a burglary that had gone wrong. Her husband of 15 years, Caleb Flynn, was hit with a stack of charges, aggravated murder, murder, two counts of felonious assault, three counts of tampering with evidence. He's entered a plea of not guilty. Now here's where things get complicated. Botner, the other woman, hasn't been charged with a single crime. Her attorney confirmed she doesn't even have an immunity deal, which is interesting. Investigators never searched her apartment, her car, or collected her DNA, which is also interesting. She took the stand as a prosecution witness and walked right back out the front door. But what she laid out over those seven hours is a chilling record. A picture of someone who had every reason in the world to know something horrible was about to go down. It stood by and did nothing.
And is that because she thought what was about to go down was a divorce, not a murder? And maybe so.
Started back in 2022 when she met Flynn. She was a 22-year-old church intern at Christian Life Center in Butler Township. He was running the music ministry and she was working right under him. By May of 24, their relationship turned physical. They were sending 300 messages a day. He'd refer to his wife Ashley using such loving terms as douchebag, whore and spawn of Satan. You know, those ones that your wife always is begging you, honey, can you call me douchebag, whore and spawn of Satan like you used to? I just don't get those warming cuddlies anymore. And Botner admitted on the stand that she joined right in using those exact same names. They even got matching lightning bolt tattoos. This is the arrogance of Caleb Flynn and the ignorance of Alleigha Botner.
Flynn hid his under his armpit so Ashley wouldn't notice.
