I handle calls for service. I'm also an evidence technician, DOR community resource and the drug pilot.

And were you called in to be involved with this? When did you first interact with the defendant, Caleb Flynn?

February 16th. Later in the day, I was asked to take photos, collect DNA samples and fingerprints.

And where did the state place?

At the TippCity Police Station.

Who did you meet in the TippCity Police Department?

Will Roberts (1:19)

Detectives and Mr. Flynn.

And where did you meet the defendant?

Will Roberts (1:25)

In an interview room.

And what was the first type of evidence you collected from the defendant?

Will Roberts (1:31)

I believe it was the DNA.

And how did you collect the DNA samples?

Will Roberts (1:36)

Two beautiful swabs. One at each time by putting them inside the cheek of his mouth, twisting it, and then putting it into a cardboard box.

And that is assessing the procedure as your roles in evidence technician?

Will Roberts (1:53)

Yes. And you said put them in a little cardboard box so they can breathe and dry out and not mold.

SPEAKER_3 (2:03)

And after they dry out, we should do it all.

Place them into an evidence envelope for them to be submitted to an evidence locker.

Is that a packaging that you originally put the DNA in?

Will Roberts (2:51)

Yes.

And has it changed at all since you put the DNA in there?

It has been opened and we've sealed it.

And have you talked about how Jane Doe was opened by?

Will Roberts (3:07)

It's a lapse mission. I'm not sure.

Yeah, some type of lapse mission.

But will the seals still attack before you open it?

Uh, holding the box that I put the buccal swabs in. That is my handwriting on there. It says DNA swabs from Caleb Flynn.

Is that box looking similar to the original one you put in there?

Yes.

What's the DNA, what should you do next?

I believe I fingerprinted Mr. Flynn.

And how does he do that?

Will Roberts (4:39)

With what we call inkless ink, so we roll his fingerprints onto print cards and it...

Tony Brueski (4:46)

Go ahead.

SPEAKER_3 (4:48)

And then what?

Will Roberts (4:49)

So it's inkless ink, so then you put it into a dryer that fixes the ink onto the paper, and it permanently fixes it there.

SPEAKER_3 (4:59)

Any issues with that fingerprinting in this case?

Will Roberts (5:02)

There was one that like I rolled that didn't turn out as good, so I re-rolled one. I do remember that. But other than that, no issues.

And what did you do with the fingerprint card that I've lost?

Will Roberts (5:13)

Place it into a envelope, evidence envelope, and then it submitted that into an evidence locker.
