BTL | Countdown To UFC 331, Ilia Topuria BACK, KI MMA Launched, Colby vs. Belal

Mike Heck (0:00)

All right, Mike Heck here from MMAFighting, and my good friend Jed Mishu is here with me as well, because Jed, the day has finally arrived. It's app day, the all new SB Nation app. It's live now, it's live, Jed.

Alexander K. Lee (0:12)

It's alive.

Jed Mishu (0:14)

Yeah, man, I'm really excited. And it's awesome, man. Combat sports, like all sports, but combat sports fans especially, you guys are gonna have your voices heard like never before within SB Nation. MMA boxing, not me, but you, pro wrestling, Mike.

It's it is a community based app. It's all about community with the SB Nation app.

Mike Heck (0:34)

It's so easy to use and it can keep, obviously, combat sports fans connected to their favorite teams and all of sports too across the board. So I can keep up with the Red Sox, the Celtics, the Patriots and the Bruins all on my phone. And it's so simple to use.

Jed Mishu (0:48)

Yeah, like you, you mentioned those teams, but there's so much more because I don't care about Boston sports, Mike, but I get to follow the NFL, all the other sport, F1, the various sports that I care about outside of combat sports.

And then there's the live experience because that's to me, that's one of the coolest things. You can chat with us during fight cards every Saturday, and you can chat with other people in the communities as big events are happening. So it's a really good time.

Mike Heck (1:15)

So, ladies and gentlemen, come fight with us over on the all new SB Nation app. Download it today. Download it right now. What are you waiting for? Download it.

SPEAKER_4 (1:28)

Live from MMA Fighting Studios, this is Between the Links.

Mike Heck (1:43)

Yes, that's me.

That is me. Welcome to a brand new edition of BTL. Happy Thursday to us all. We are not at the MMA Fighting Studios. I'm actually in Miami for RAF 13

I don't know how I'm speaking to you right now, but we are here. We persevere. We break the walls down. And we talk to all of you once again on a brand new edition of Between the Links. Lots to discuss. So much has happened since we last spoke. Former champion breaks his silence, has some cheating accusations. Tom Aspinall no longer the UFC Heavyweight Champion. And so much more. We got Ufc 331, we got RAF, we got all sorts of things. And joining me today is not Mr. No Gray Area. He has a day off. And you know what? We were like, let's just let him keep the day off. But stepping in admirably, I might add, is my best friend, the Prince of Positivity. This isn't on to the next one, Alexander K. Lee.

Alexander K. Lee (2:40)

Well, I mean, it kind of is, Mike. We kind of owe them one, because you were off this weekend, this past weekend. Excuse me, you're not off this weekend. You're off this past weekend.

My best friend doing the lovely, lovely DJ work for one of our MMA Fighting fans. What if we're on to the next one, fans? I think specifically. So that was cool. Did you get any of those? Were you able to put in those pictures up on social? I know you sent us, I think you sent me the picture, or you sent us the picture. But I don't know if people saw you.

SPEAKER_4 (3:07)

I didn't.

Mike Heck (3:08)

I didn't get the selfie either.

SPEAKER_4 (3:09)

He saved that just for you. Okay, okay. Amazing stuff. That was a good time.

Alexander K. Lee (3:13)

But Jed did a great job on the next one. It's an amazing episode. But yeah, we kind of owe people an episode. So here we go. And we're gonna be looking ahead, more recent things as opposed to our usual future prognosticating. But still, a hell of a lot to talk about this week, Mike.

Mike Heck (3:29)

Yeah, holy crap, man.

Alexander K. Lee (3:31)

Geez.

Mike Heck (3:31)

Yeah, that wedding was a good time. It was nice to come out of retirement. Shout out to Brian Conley and his new wife, Samantha.

Great times, great family. And yes, but just just a spectacular time. So I missed all of you guys, but it was great to hang out with them. I went back. They had a nice little after party on the beach, on the Cape, and we watched the last three or four Noche fights before I headed back and got a good sleep in. And then first thing in the morning to go meet my brother in Boston to play a little indoor golf while it was raining. It was a good weekend and then woke up super early Monday morning, got on a flight to New York City. Was that the Ki Mma Scott Coker launch in New York City? That place was ridiculous, dude. Like it was bananas.
