Today is September 30th. All right, big opener for the Bruins last night. They beat the New York Rangers 3-0 in their first game of the 2026-2027 NHL season. Jeremy Swayman was on fire, posting a 24 save shutout.

That's a great way to start the year.

Then there's Fraser Minten, who scored the first goal of the season after a tight matchup for most of the game. He capitalized on a strong pass and found the net right when it mattered. Talk about a confidence boost for a young player. For sure.

Also, newcomer JJ Peterka made a big impression by scoring his first goal as a Bruin shortly after Minten. He maneuvered through the defense and finished strong. You love to see a fresh face making an immediate impact. And don't forget Mark Kastelic, who sealed the deal with an empty net goal. Minten assisted on that play, giving him a multi-point night. Always good to see teamwork pay off like that. So the Bruins kicked things off on a high note. Sure, there's room for improvement, but they showed patience and resilience.

Not a bad way to set the tone for the season ahead. This has been New York Rangers News Today powered by AI.
