It's September 30th. All right, so the Boston Bruins kicked off their season in style with a solid 3-0 win over the New York Rangers last night. It was a tight game until the very end, which makes the victory feel even sweeter. Both teams came out strong, but couldn't find the net in the first two periods. The shots were close at 15-14 in favor of the Bruins, but goalies Igor Shesterkin and Jeremy Swayman were on their game, making some big saves.

A scoreless game always adds to the suspense, you know? Then, late in the third, Bruin center Fraser Minten broke the deadlock at 16 minutes and 14 seconds. That first goal is a huge momentum shift for the team, setting the tone for what came next.

Just under a minute later, left winger JJ Peterka found the net to double the lead, and you could feel the Rangers frustration building. Once they pulled Shesterkin, the Bruins struck again with an empty net goal from Mark Kastelic. That really sealed the deal.

Swayman earned the shutout with 24 saves, showcasing his skills right out of the gate. Next up, the Bruins hit the road to face the Winnipeg Jets on Friday night. Should be another exciting matchup, so keep an eye on that one. New York Rangers News Today, powered by AI bringing you what matters on the field and beyond.
