Welcome in What's Driving Nick Wright episode 515 This episode of What's Driving Nick Wright is presented to you by Boost Mobile.

We are live right now on YouTube Tuesday. We were unable to be live on YouTube as real life stepped in the way of our live Tuesday show. We still, however, got you a show by Tuesday evening that hopefully you guys were able to check out. But that is always a reminder to subscribe on all our platforms on YouTube, Spotify, or iTunes. That way, if we are not keeping our regular schedule, you guys can still get the episodes. We will still try no matter what's going on in our lives right now, to try to get you guys three or four episodes a week every week as we always do. The downside, however, of not being able to go live on Tuesday was Damonza was not able to be on the show with us after a crazy weekend of football. My apologies there. Damonza, how are you?

SPEAKER_2 (1:03)

No worries. Good to see you, Pops. Glad to be back. How's it going?

Nick Wright (1:06)

Yes. Glad to have you back. Let's go straight to voicemail and then we're going to get to what's happening right now because there's major things to update you guys on. Straight to voicemail brought to you by our friends at Boost Mobile, Flavor Flav, who I once stood in line behind at a Din Tai Fung in Vegas, loves Mamu, the Dodgers, three, the dot, listen, you know what? This is going to be a little more than straight to voicemail. Dodgers are yours over.

The guy is almost assuredly going to have to sell the team. By the way, I don't know that Shohei will leave, but Shohei is allowed to leave if the team ownership changes. But regardless, the Dodgers, Mark Walter appears to have been funding his sports empires with people's insurance money.

Shout out to Aaron Sorkin, who pointed this out 14 years ago, and nobody cared. Aaron Sorkin is like, I don't know, man, this guy who has all these insurance companies sure seems to be going in his left pocket to fund the right pocket. Nobody cared.

And then all of a sudden, he had to snap sell the Lakers and then selling Chelsea and maybe selling the Dodgers. Hell of a run by the Dodgers. They're an amazing team, but they're down 3-0. They're going to lose this series. And I think my somewhat uninformed guess is that they will have new ownership in the off season. I'm sure Pablo's all over it once he's done investigating the bronze helicopter with fanatics. Guys?

SPEAKER_2 (2:47)

What is there to investigate there?

Nick Wright (2:49)

I don't know. People thought I was trying to start a meeting.

No. What did you say?

SPEAKER_2 (2:54)

After the Earth?

Nick Wright (2:56)

No. It's whether or not it was, oh my god, that's a terrible frozen image of me. My god. They caught you like that. That really is a catastrophe.

This or something. I don't love that at all. What do I do here, guys? Let me turn the camera off, turn it back on. I don't know what's going on here. Now we're just, I mean, I don't know what to do. Is the audio still working?

SPEAKER_2 (3:21)

This is- Yeah, we got you.

Nick Wright (3:22)

We still got you.

SPEAKER_2 (3:22)

Okay, so you know what?

Nick Wright (3:23)

We'll just keep rolling for now, we'll just throw up the technical difficulties video, but we will keep the audio going.

All right, well, that was horrifying. Nothing like realizing what you look like just by a random screenshot of you mid. I mean, is that what people see when I'm talking to them?

SPEAKER_2 (3:42)

They caught you in a bad frame.

Nick Wright (3:43)

They caught me in a bad spot there. I don't know what was happening there.

We don't... So, oh, you were asking what the Bron... The Bron helicopter thing. No, it's not an environment issue.

The implication is the guy who owns Fanatics used to own the Sixers, and he no longer owns the Sixers, but is still a huge Sixers fan. And the implication is that there is some salary cap circumvention going on because they're letting him use the helicopter when he's playing for the league minimum. Guys, let me just tell you something real quick. So I wasn't even trying to start a beef. I just thought it was funny because somebody wrote an article, Pablo Torres looking into LeBron's Fanatics helicopter usage. And so I did, I never used gifts, but the LeBron, the scared LeBron gift, that gift. Too easy. I quote tweeted it, but that was just too easy. It's just sitting right there.
