Let me tell you the story of the day I broke Ama's cup.

In the picture, we can see the cup. It is beautiful and orange and green.

And yellow.

I was at her house.

**SPEAKER_4** (1:09)
I was bored.

So naturally, I decided to scare her cat, Mimi. In the picture, we can see the cat.

It is lounging in a chair, minding its own business.

**Lisa Bueno** (1:24)
But when I jumped out, I bumped into the side table.

**Lisa Bueno** (1:29)
Ama's cup flew up, then down, down, down until...

The cat, however, does look quite frightened, doesn't it?

**SPEAKER_4** (1:49)
The cup broke into three pieces.

**SPEAKER_3** (1:52)
I felt so bad, I didn't know what to do.

**Lisa Bueno** (1:57)
So, I ran.
Seems like a logical thing to do when you do something like that, right? Far away from the broken cup, I thought, what if Emma gets mad at me?

**Lisa Bueno** (2:13)
What if Emma yells at me? What if Emma kicks me out?
Oh my goodness, we can see in the pictures all of the fears. Suddenly, Emma called from inside the house.

**SPEAKER_3** (2:36)
We can hear her call.

**Lisa Bueno** (2:38)
Did she sound angry?

**SPEAKER_3** (2:41)
I covered my ears and pretended not to hear.

**Lisa Bueno** (2:45)
Everything was okay until I opened my eyes.

**Lisa Bueno** (2:51)
Emma was standing right behind me.

**SPEAKER_4** (2:58)
Oh no!

**SPEAKER_5** (3:02)
And we can see the shadow of Emma right over her.

And we know Emma, by the way, is another name for Grandma, right?

Back in the living room, the cup was gone. What do you think happened to it?

Maybe the cat ate it.

Got rid of the mess. Maybe.

I was about to eat a slice of cake when Me-me walked into the room.

Oh, the cat.

Me-me, you naughty cat.

Emma said, you broke my cup.

**Lisa Bueno** (3:55)
Me-me stared at me.

Me-me knew the truth.

Me-me was taking the blame.
How does it feel when you do something wrong, as somebody else gets the blame for it? Terrible. I wanted to eat my cake, but Me-me stared at me.

I felt so guilty.

**Lisa Bueno** (4:30)
I couldn't eat a single bite.

**SPEAKER_4** (4:33)
The cake looked so delicious, but Me-me stared.

**Lisa Bueno** (4:45)
Take a bite, I must said, but Me-me stared even harder.

**Phil Ip** (4:53)
Cake, Me-me, cake, Me-me.

**SPEAKER_4** (4:58)
I couldn't take it anymore.

**SPEAKER_8** (5:01)
No, no, no.

**Lisa Bueno** (5:06)
I ran out of the living room and straight into the coat closet where I sat in the dark. I was going to sit there until all of my problems went away.

**SPEAKER_5** (5:20)
It might take five minutes, five months, five years.

**Lisa Bueno** (5:26)
But the closet door soon opened.

**SPEAKER_4** (5:31)
What's the matter?

**Lisa Bueno** (5:34)
Mama asked. I couldn't keep it in.

**SPEAKER_5** (5:39)
See, in the picture, we can see how she operates.

**Lisa Bueno** (5:43)
The truth was making its way up and out until... See, the truth is sitting in the pit of her stomach.

**SPEAKER_5** (5:51)
But up it goes throughout her body and right out of her mouth.

I broke it!

I'm so sorry.

She sobbed.

I cried so hard. I thought the entire closet would flood.

But do you know what happened next?

Amma wasn't angry. She didn't yell.

She didn't kick me out. She just hugged me.
