How about a little booze news?
Nigel (0:01)
Ooh, yeah.
SPEAKER_3 (0:03)
You set them up and I'll knock them back, Lloyd.
Nigel (0:05)
One for one. Time for Booze News.
Hammer (0:24)
Yesterday, I had a T-shirt on that said, Drink Wisconsinably.
Nigel (0:29)
I saw that.
Hammer (0:30)
Bought that in Wisconsin when I went up to watch a Cubs and Brewers game a couple of years ago.
They go hard in the paint in Wisconsin. They they enjoy a beverage or two.
Nigel (0:41)
I've been there.
Hammer (0:42)
In Wisconsin. You were there for that IU Wisconsin football game that what was it? 81 to nothing?
Nigel (0:51)
Was it? Did IU not score any points?
Hammer (0:55)
I don't know if they got shut out, but I know Wisconsin put an 80 burger on the board.
Nigel (0:59)
That's all you need to know about that game that I was at.
Hammer (1:02)
Yeah, it was a different time for IU football back then.
Nigel (1:05)
Sure was.
Hammer (1:06)
Dateline Wisconsin, a guy in Wisconsin got arrested after he was caught driving under the influence 21 times the legal limit.
Nigel (1:16)
No.
Hammer (1:18)
21 times.
Nigel (1:21)
You'd be dead, dead, dead.
Hammer (1:24)
He had a previous DUI, so the legal limit for him was zero point oh two.
Nigel (1:31)
Oh, I see what you're saying. I didn't know that was a thing.
Hammer (1:35)
In Wisconsin, if you get hit with one Dewey, they lower the amount that you're allowed to have. So his limit was zero point oh two.
Even by normal standards like here in Indiana, it's zero point oh eight. OK, he was still more than five times the legal limit. His blood alcohol was point four to seven.
Nigel (1:56)
Good Lord, man.
Hammer (1:57)
Even Mark Sanchez and Kenan Allen are like, dude, take it easy. What's wrong with you? Pump the brakes a little bit, kid.
Nigel (2:08)
Kenan Allen had a point two for didn't he? He did something. He was up there, wasn't he?
Hammer (2:13)
And I don't know if we ever got a specific number out of Mark Sanchez, but he was drunk enough to the point to where he could be stabbed and wandering around and somebody just take me to a hospital for God's sake, right?
Nigel (2:28)
Take me to Eskenazi.
Hammer (2:32)
According to a new survey, nige Americans start to lose interest in drinking alcohol at the age of 32
Nigel (2:42)
Looks like I'm 20 years too late.
SPEAKER_3 (2:46)
Oh, no, I'm too late.
Hammer (2:49)
Val Kilmer. This is a little bit more from this study. They survey 2000 American adults age 21 and over, and it revealed that 61% have experienced a decreased interest in consuming alcohol since they first tried it, especially Gen Z. Gen Z does not like to have lots of alcoholic beverages, and consuming alcohol is less of an interest for those younger respondents, for those who are just social drinkers. It's down to 28% now, 28%.
So according to this study, people are losing interest at drinking beers, whisky, shots at the age of 32
Nigel (3:40)
I think there's a lot of choices out there when it comes to getting a buzz on. Get your buzz on, and it doesn't involve, you know, the high fructose corn syrup crap, like I love, like fireball.
And I don't know, Hammer, what do you attribute this to?
Hammer (4:07)
I think Gen X, our generation, because I'm Gen X, you're Gen X.
Nigel (4:12)
I'm Gen X.
Hammer (4:13)
We like to get drunk. We like to drink.
Nigel (4:17)
We hit it hard back in the day.
Hammer (4:19)
Boy, there was no social media when we were in our primes, so to speak.
Nigel (4:24)
That's it.
Hammer (4:25)
So we could just get loose, man. We were doing all kinds of stuff. So if you're around our age, if you're a friendly older drunk, and you got through the Gen X phase, I feel like you probably still enjoy a beverage or two.
But the younger folks coming up, they're not as active in it as we are. But we will always have this. Hammer and Nigel Show presents Nigel Talking to Old Drunks.
Nigel (4:53)
Hey, how many beers you drink Saturday?
SPEAKER_3 (4:55)
Oh, man. I lost count after about 15
Nigel (5:00)
What was the occasion? So what did you get into over the weekend?
SPEAKER_3 (5:02)
What did I get into? You wouldn't know her.
Nigel (5:08)
What's the plan today?
SPEAKER_3 (5:09)
The plan is to get a tractor running.
Nigel (5:11)
Maybe crack open a few cold beers later?
