Yeah, I thought I hammer on this one when I saw this, because he hails from Beach Grove. Beach Grove adults, closer to having alcohol outdoors. City Councilors took a 4-3 preliminary vote to allow outdoor drinking at certain areas. Basically walking around Beach Grove, booze in your hands, open containers. Are you okay with this?

I think it's cute. They think you need to pass a law for that to happen. Anybody that's grown up in Beach Grove knows that this has been going on for a long time.
But officially, they're going with this DORA program, Designated Outdoor Refreshment Area. Honestly, I'm fine with it. Danville, Carmel, Speedway, I believe downtown.

Oh, you could walk around with an open container downtown Indianapolis. There's no laws on the books. Really, the only laws on the books are like you can't have, it doesn't apply to alcohol in motor vehicles. You can't have roadies.

Right. So now there's two designated areas that Beach Grove is trying to do this in, like the Main Street area and then the park area as well, the big Sarah T. Bolton Park area. There are certain times that you can do it, like Main Street is 5 to 10, Thursday through Friday, noon to 10, Saturday through Sunday. There's a few holidays that are excluded. Like nobody's going to remember that. So you better have some signage up. And with like the big park events, you can't do it on like the big fourth or third of July shows where they do the fireworks and things. But for the most part, I'm fine. Because again, I got news for you. If you've been around Beach Grove long enough, somebody's walking around with an open container, whether it's legal or not.
