Hi everyone, welcome to the bonus podcast.
You see the new feature Instagram's rolling out.
What is it? They're rolling out a new feature. If you're a bookworm, it's good news. Yes, I'm a bookworm. It shows on your profile, it personalizes what book you're currently reading. So it'd be like, Susie O'Neill, insert Smutty Book, whatever it is, underneath your name and it'll have the book title and artist. I'm not reading a Smutty Book. Sorry. I've just... I finished... I took a swing. Heated Rivalry. Oh, yeah. So it'd have Susie O'Neill, or Susie O'Neill, Heated Rivalry. And so then other readers can go, Oh, Susie's reading Heated Rivalry right now. Remember the days of MySpace? You'd have a song for your profile and a picture and it would have your top friends. They're trying to personalize it like that. Top friends? I missed the whole MySpace thing. Oh, yeah. It was very controversial.
Sometimes you'd be like, Luttsy, you'd be my number one or be your number one. That's so primary school-ish. Then Luttsy would make me number two and I'd see that I'm not number one, Susie's number one. What the hell? It would start a fight. That's really bizarre. How do I find that on my Instagram? I don't think it's there yet for it. You know they roll it out for some accounts and then they roll it out in certain countries and they bring it out? What book would you be reading? Right now, I'm actually reading a fantasy smart one. I actually am. Fantasy smart? Yeah.
They're fantasy books like Game of Thrones, but there's just lots of sex in them. Like Lesbian Vampires and stuff. Yeah, sometimes fairies. Not always lesbians. Vampires? Yeah. They can be. There's definitely. It's Dracula, they were. Were they? I didn't know that. I wrote a thing, like a university...
Thesis? Thesis, something like that. Essay? Essay about the meanings behind Bram Stoker's Dracula. Really? That's the movie, the main one that's just come out. Well, Bram Stoker's Dracula is a book. Oh. Nothing. Yeah. But that's the original story of what all the Dracula stories are now. Oh, look at that. Can you send me the essay? Yeah, if I find it. It's very sexual. The reason... Oh, good. I'd love to see that. You would actually. Same, the reason. Just forget I wrote it.
The reason Enst is doing this is because of all the books turning into shows and films. So now they're just getting ahead of it. It's a good idea. See what everyone's reading then, more people will read that book. You know who else made books sexy online? Yes. Is that Luke Bateman? Oh, is he the tradie farmer? He used to be a... Yes, I read all the same stuff that he does. Yeah, did he used to be a football player? Yeah, I think so. And then he's a farmer and then he basically just does book talk, which is like a whole world on TikTok. And it's him talking about the smutty books that he reads or has read and he basically narrates them in context. They're not always smutty. Aren't they always? No, because... They're fantasy, usually. No, because I get normal books from him. Oh, so he does everything and anything. Yeah, yeah. Right. He does. He's on Australian Story coming up. I love Australian Story. You do love Australian Story. I'm going to check him out. That's where I saw him. Yeah. But he's... Do you think he's good looking? Yeah, I mean, I'd go for him. I don't go that way. He had a really bad gambling problem.
That's why he's on Australian Story.
He said he was earning $400,000 a year. God, playing football. He must have been pretty good. He would have had $400,000. And he had no money because he gambled it all away. Oh, jeez. Gamble responsibly.
There you go. Well, I mean, it'd be a talking point. I don't know if I'd be too ashamed, though, to put the books that I'm reading up there, you know what I mean? Like the Sarah J. Maas book series, that are like the big sort of... Are they the fourth... Yeah, or Fourth Wing? I've read those. But then there's like Akita and Throne of Glass and stuff. I didn't like the Fourth Wing. You didn't like Fourth Wing? I couldn't even get through the book. Yeah. I don't even know of such things. It's very niche fan- They're turning Fourth Wing into a show. Are they? Yep. I like the sexual part of it. Yeah. I just don't like the sci-fi part. Luttsy, some sex chapters, they go for like two or three chapters where they're having sex. It gets a bit much. Who could do it for that long? I know. And when they climax, their powers go off and stuff. Really? Look at a photo of Luke Baten with a book. He looks nice, doesn't he? Yeah, he looks like a footy player. Women-like men that read. Yeah, yeah. It always pops up in my wife's algorithm too. How did that pop up again? See, he's reading their Akatart. Oh, he's too? Yeah, I read those. Have you read those, Sus? No, they could. Yeah, if you're into that sort of stuff. But I don't know if you're a fantasy gal. I don't like fantasy. No. It's just like Game of Thrones-esque for me.
