I'm gonna...

**David Lutteral** (0:05)
No, thank you, that's fine.

**Ash Bradnam** (0:08)
Hey, welcome to the podcast. For the bonus listeners out there, Susie's hungry.

**David Lutteral** (0:12)
G'day everyone, how are you?

**Ash Bradnam** (0:13)
Hi, David.

**David Lutteral** (0:14)
Hey. Yes, I want some cereal. Let's go.
Yeah, I haven't eaten yet today either. What? It's like afternoon there. I know, I'm starving. Okay, we'll try and hold it together.

**Ash Bradnam** (0:26)
That's my problem. Yeah, everyone has problems, as you say, you know.

**David Lutteral** (0:31)
Okay, what do you got?

**Ash Bradnam** (0:32)
Oh, yeah.
So this article came around, I saw this one overnight. There's a remote worker who works for two separate companies, two tech companies, and they don't know that he works for either. So one's a big tech company and one's like a smaller boutique tech company. So he earns double the income, does clearly the work Monday to Friday for both companies, and they have no idea that he's working for the other.

**David Lutteral** (0:54)
That's pretty clever. Works remotely.

**Ash Bradnam** (0:55)
Works remotely. Gets paid two salaries.

**David Lutteral** (0:57)
Do you reckon it's the same job, or do you reckon it doubles up, or he has to do two full separate jobs? It has to be similar.

**Ash Bradnam** (1:03)
I reckon it's a crossover. Yeah, it has to be.
It's like Luke McHugh here. We never see him. He could be doing anything. Yeah. Actually, good point. He's in tech as well. Yeah, four jobs. Yeah, that's very true. Anyway, he's now come undone, because the bigger tech company, he has the user names obviously, is employing the smaller tech company, and an email has gone out to both companies and said, good news, we're now incorporating this company and all its employees. So these two companies that he works for, what are the chances that he works for them both, they don't know, and now they're one, and he's on email threads where he's also on that email thread in the other company.

**David Lutteral** (1:41)
I mean, they could be two Gary Johnsons.

**Ash Bradnam** (1:43)
That's true. That's true.

**David Lutteral** (1:45)
Oh, great idea. What if they got the same tax file number? Are they Australian? I mean, payroll might notice.

**Ash Bradnam** (1:51)
It's overseas. It's overseas.

**David Lutteral** (1:53)
Oh, okay.

**Ash Bradnam** (1:53)
Yeah.

**David Lutteral** (1:53)
Yeah. So two different people. That's a good idea. It's potentially a payroll issue.

**Ash Bradnam** (1:56)
You could do that.

**David Lutteral** (1:57)
Yeah.

**Ash Bradnam** (1:57)
Supposedly one, he has his full name and one, he uses his initial of his first name and then his last name.

**David Lutteral** (2:02)
Is his name common?

**Ash Bradnam** (2:04)
Doesn't say. This is all sort of in a Reddit article, so it's all covered up.

**David Lutteral** (2:08)
Interesting.

**Ash Bradnam** (2:09)
So who do you go? James Smith or Jay Smith?

**David Lutteral** (2:11)
That's a good idea, though. If you're working from home, you probably could do a lot of other things.

**Ash Bradnam** (2:16)
You really could. Absolutely.

**David Lutteral** (2:18)
I'd be hopeless if I worked from home.

**Ash Bradnam** (2:20)
But how could work from home be like, for example, this week, we got the Wednesday off. So wouldn't you just work from home Thursday, Friday, work from home?

**David Lutteral** (2:27)
Yeah.

**Ash Bradnam** (2:27)
And all of a sudden-

**David Lutteral** (2:28)
Go to the coast.

**Ash Bradnam** (2:28)
Yeah.

**David Lutteral** (2:30)
Yeah, good call.

**Ash Bradnam** (2:30)
Log on, move your mouse around on Teams, and you got yourself like a four-day weekend.

**David Lutteral** (2:34)
How do you do that? Is there a thing to do that now?

**Ash Bradnam** (2:38)
To move it for you.

**David Lutteral** (2:38)
Because sometimes Cliff asks me to log into meetings.

**Kip Wightman** (2:41)
Oh yeah?

**David Lutteral** (2:42)
He used to get some points for stuff, and this is probably illegal.

**Kip Wightman** (2:46)
Yes. And you have to move it around so it looks like he's on it.

**Ash Bradnam** (2:49)
So he's still there, keeps him active. I've never been part of a company where I've been required to do like teams meetings and stuff, you know, because we do this job.

**Kip Wightman** (2:56)
Me neither.

**Ash Bradnam** (2:56)
But I have friends who say that same thing. But they still go and work from the coast or have a lazy Monday or a lazy Friday.

**Kip Wightman** (3:02)
That'd be nice.

**Ash Bradnam** (3:03)
See, we slum it. We don't get that luxury.

**David Lutteral** (3:05)
We only work three hours a day.

**Kip Wightman** (3:08)
