Welcome in to a new era here at Bitcoin Magazine HQ. This is BMTV. We are bringing you the best and the brightest experts to explain the world at a time of massive transition from the growth of an absolutely scarce asset to the rise of AI and a reorganization of geopolitics. I'm Grace Remington alongside Sean Hagan. We are so excited to be with you this Monday morning. And Sean, you've been here at BTC Inc for quite some time. We've seen lots of chapters with the company, but seeing Bmtv go from idea to launch day, what's that mean to you and how important is this for our viewers?

Sean Hagan (0:37)

Yeah, thank you, Grace. You know, Bitcoin Magazine has been the most established and one of the most respected media brands in the industry for a very long time. And as Bitcoin has grown and evolved, Bitcoin Magazine has been right there with it along the journey. And this is just another step forward in that process. And I'm excited to be here and be a part of it with you and get to talk to our audience every day about Bitcoin, which is something we love to do.

Grace Remington (0:59)

Yeah, it's going to be a really fun time. We are here every weekday at 930 Eastern Time. So we hope you don't miss the show. Join us every morning. But really, it is our hope to kind of take some of these more complex topics, break them down into a more digestible form to help you understand not just how the headlines you're seeing every day are impacting your savings account and your purchasing power, but how they impact your families and your daily lives. And of course, we're doing that through the lens of Bitcoin. So with that, let's get to today's headlines. Over the weekend, Frontier AI lab leaders, including Sam Altman, Elon Musk, and Anthropix Dario Modi, called for a slowdown and tighter regulation of AI development, citing public safety concerns. Critics warned the slowdown could be an excuse for regulatory capture and monopolistic business practices. President Trump rejected the idea of a slowdown, stating he wants to continue leading China in AI.

The Bank of International Settlements warns the rapid expansion of AI investment is creating new risk for global financial stability, saying much of the trillions of dollars invested are being financed through debt and private credit. The oil market continues to complicate the monetary policy picture, with Saudi Arabia being forced to close its east-west oil pipeline following drone strikes originating in Iraq. According to the BBC, of course, with energy prices likely continuing to place pressure on inflation, the Fed risks hiking into an economic downturn spurred by the ongoing supply shock. An escalating conflict in the Middle East sent oil prices higher. The US dollar climbed to a two-week high, rising nearly half a percent to 99.59, its highest level since early September.

All eyes are on the upcoming FOMC meeting with Fed Chairman Kevin Warsh to give rates guidance Tuesday at 2 o'clock Eastern time. Fed funds futures currently price the odds of a rate hike at 90 percent likelihood. To date, Warsh has emphasized he does not want to telegraph his rates decision. Senate Republicans led by Cynthia Lummis released the final Clarity Act Draft last night, ahead of the key procedural vote for the landmark bill this Tuesday. President Trump met with advisors Friday and agreed to a new ethics proposal that aims to win over Democrat holdouts.

We are a couple minutes into your trading day, so let's take a look at the markets today. We will start with Bitcoin. Seeing a little price surge here in the last hour, it's up 1.7% on the day, sitting at 78.208 currently. We'll also take a look at the SPY. Lots of movement expected with the SPY and Triple Q today. After all, the AI chatter over the weekend, but SPY down 7 tenths of a percentage point here, sitting at 764.29.

Brent crude, obviously a huge story for the past couple weeks. SPY to 109 at the end of last week and this weekend, a four-month high. I believe today it's sitting at 103 And a quick look at the Treasury yields. That 10-year yield has been pushing 5 percent for a couple days now. It sits at 4.97 percent today and the 30-year yield sitting at 5.36. So lots going on, Sean. Anything sticking out to you?

Sean Hagan (4:12)

Yeah. What a week it's shaping up to be, Grace. You know, global uncertainty is certainly on the rise, and the markets are acting confused. There's two big catalysts this week coming up for Bitcoin as well. That's what my eyes are on, right? We have the Clarity Act and we have the interest rate decision.
