Hammer Nigel Show, I think we're going to hook up with Bill O'Reilly here. Hello, Bill.

Bill O'Reilly (0:05)

Hey, how are you guys doing?

SPEAKER_3 (0:07)

Good to have you back, Bill.

Bill O'Reilly (0:08)

Thanks for the invite.

SPEAKER_1 (0:10)

I am currently holding a copy of the new book that just came out this week. Bill O'Reilly's Confronting America, What Has to Change? Hammer, I don't know if this is a bootleg book or what. I got this like a, I got an advanced copy here. So Bill, we'll talk about the book and maybe, you know, as you would put it, if you wouldn't mind bloviating on some of the topics of the day, the last half of the interview, we'd love that as well.

Bill O'Reilly (0:38)

No problem.

SPEAKER_1 (0:39)

Tell me why you decided to write this book. What is the book about? And yeah, definitely have some questions about what's inside the pages here.

Bill O'Reilly (0:49)

Okay. So this is Eyewitness History, stuff that I've actually seen in my long career. And we, it was very personal for me because I've watched the same problems over and over and you guys have too, and they never get solved.

So, each problem, it takes up a chapter, and then I have the solution to the problem. And it's based upon real life, not promises, not politicians, none of that. And I wanted to get it on the record so that people don't lose hope, that they know that there is, if the will is there, a way to solve even the most vexing of problems. So, that's what the book is about. And the subtitle of the book is What Has to Change. And if the folks start to get riled up, I think there will be change.

SPEAKER_3 (1:58)

Bill, do the political parties have to change? Not just one, but both major political parties. Do they have to change?

Bill O'Reilly (2:08)

Well, if they want to prosper, they do. I mean, the Democratic Party is now selling you a watered down version of socialism. That's not going to play. Okay. So if they continue to do that, they're going to fail. The Republican Party doesn't do anything.

I mean, it just, Trump does everything. But the party itself has no leadership. They don't give you a vision of, well, here's the problem is how we're going to solve it. They don't do any of that. So you've got one destructive party, the Democrats, who want to tear the country apart. You can get another party that's basically say, well, you know, we don't know.

Well, get a clue.

SPEAKER_1 (2:50)

You know, Bill, reading through this book, it seems, you mentioned this is a personal book. I did feel like there was an air of, you know, you personally coming throughout this book. And I'm just wondering, you know, whether it be education, whether it be racism, whether it be patriotism.

Is there one thing, I mean, I don't think you kind of listed it, like what needs to happen in order for this country to change. But is there one thing that sticks out that's more important to you than something else?

Bill O'Reilly (3:30)

Well, the folks have to become more aware. So we got 50% and that's in the bubble people chapter. Okay? So the bubble people, they don't care. I mean, they don't pay attention. They got the phone in their hand every second. The world revolves around their thumb. I mean, it's crazy.

You go out, you ask them, you know, essential questions about the country and how it runs and who's in charge. They don't know.

So that is the change because you're not going to force these politicians to do anything because by nature, they're just interested in power and they're lazy unless the folks go knock it off or let's get going. Now to do his credit, Trump did solve the open border problem, which never should have occurred under Biden. He did and he did it himself by himself. No legislation, Republicans didn't really gather, they supported it, but they didn't really, you know, have much to do with it.

Because he's a populist and if he's interested in the problem, he'll take it on. The problem is he's taken too much on. And he can't possibly do all the things he's trying to do. And that's, he's running into trouble in. So the folks have got to become smarter if I have to break it down. And you got to pay attention to your country because your welfare is linked in to the welfare of the country.
