Well, it might be the last episode that has Mike Lee on it because of Sarah, not me, because of Sarah. He was on talking about the Save America Act, and Sarah refused to not play Thune the Ball-Less Rhino. And I don't think the senator appreciated it. I know, you might, you might. But also, there was an attack that was planned on the White House, a severe terrorist attack. And it was done, planned by Americans. And you need to know about it because one of them, the leader, was a 19-year-old kid who was turned in by his mom, who saw him change over the last few months. You need to hear this story because you, your family members, your kids could fall into this trap easily if you don't know what it is. And from the DOJ, the Civil Rights Division, Harmeet Dhillon, talking about what's happening with your kids in school and what the DOJ and the Department of Education just did to help shut down the Department of Education under Donald Trump. All of that and so much more on today's podcast.
It's no secret that the checkout line feels a lot heavier now, doesn't it? Those daily essentials are ending up, she's on a credit card, those double-digit interest rates are quietly draining your bank account. If that debt is starting to feel heavy, you are not alone. And if you're a homeowner, you've likely looked at your mortgage rate and thought, I can't touch that. Well, American Financing Smart Equity Loan, with this, you don't have to. It allows you to wipe out high interest debt and lower your monthly overhead while keeping your primary mortgage intact. It's a surgical strike against debt. And unlike fluctuating HELOC, the Smart Equity Loan is a fixed rate loan. That gives you the predictable monthly payment month after month. At American Financing, there's never any upfront fees to find out if you even qualify for it. This is the best of The Glenn Beck Program.
I mean, just when you think you've heard it all, I've got to talk about Iran today. We've got to talk about the Save America Act. We've got to talk about the attempt on the White House. We have Harmeet Dhillon coming in with a huge breaking news story that she's going to announce on this program about the Department of Education. What else? What else do we? What else do we? And then, right before I go on, Jason says to me, Glenn, you do know about the California Gay Certification that's going on, right? Like, what? This gay person, 100 percent approved by the state of California. What the hell is gay certificate? We're going to get into that as well. And housing prices. For anybody who is concerned about housing prices, I want to talk to you about that coming up in just a second, because there's a really disturbing story out earlier this week. And so much more. We got to get right to Mike Lee here as we talk about the Save America Act and so many other things. Senator Mike Lee is joining us now.
And hello, Senator, how are you?
**Mike Lee** (3:54)
I'm doing great. Thank you very much, Glenn. And happy semi-quincentennial, which is the other way of saying America 250, but it just makes you sound smart.
**Glenn Beck** (4:02)
Yeah.
Yeah, it does. Or weird. You know what I mean?
**Mike Lee** (4:06)
Or weird. Mostly weird.
**Glenn Beck** (4:08)
Like the kid that gets beat up in the playground. You know what I mean?
**Mike Lee** (4:12)
It's been known to happen, especially if you say words like that.
**Glenn Beck** (4:17)
Okay. All right. I want to talk to you about what John Thune is doing. We're here with the... No, no, Sarah.
No, Sarah, I did not. Stop it. Stop, Sarah. I did not ask for Thune the ballless rhino.
I am sorry, Senator. Stop it. Sorry, Senator. That's wholly inappropriate and unprofessional. Sarah, shame on you. I want to talk to you about the Save America Act. And John Thune still doesn't seem to be willing to save America. He's still saying that we just can't pass it in the Senate, which is not true, is it?
**Mike Lee** (4:56)
Well, it's true if you assume that you have to have cloture in order to break through a filibuster. The truth is you don't. Now, most of the time, that's the way it happens these days. It wasn't always the case. It used to not be the norm at all in the Senate. Cloture votes used to be relatively rare, but they've become the default norm and now increasingly assumed falsely to be the exclusive way to break a filibuster. There are other ways. You have to exhaust those who are delaying the bill. You put the bill on the floor and you debate it until it passes.
