The Glenn Beck Program

September 15, 2026

Glenn discusses the Pro-Human Assembly happening in Washington, hosted by Bernie Sanders and Steve Bannon, and argues that the U.S. must simultaneously build data centers to beat China in the AI race and demand human-controlled safeguards like off switches and independent inspectors.

We have a lot on today's broadcast. I'm not sure what we have picked yet for this Best Of, but I talked about what really is going on with AI, and what the answer truly is. Also, millionaires being minted.

The American dream is alive and well, and no one will tell you about it. I do. Macklemore got knocked down a peg, good. And who buy? A regular dad who has very few followers, but he changed the course. I think for the first time, people who are saying, free Palestine, we're told, sit down for a minute, sit down. Also, Victor Davis Hansen joins us. We talk about everything that's going on in Washington with Trump and so much more. You don't want to miss it all on today's podcast.

You can't control whether danger ever crosses your path. You can't control whether somebody else makes a bad decision that suddenly becomes your problem. The only thing you really get control on is whether you're prepared when that moment comes. That's you. That's why I like the Burn a Launcher. It gives you a way to protect yourself without carrying a firearm and a non-lethal option for self-protection. It looks a lot like a traditional handgun, but it fires powerful kinetic and chemical projectiles that can stop an attacker from up to 60 feet away. It's powerful enough to give you the time that you need to get away and call for help without having to make a life altering decision in a split second. Legal in all 50 states doesn't require a background check for concealed carry permit and more than 750,000 Berna launchers have already been sold. There's so many reasons people have decided they'd rather have one and never need it, they need one and not have it. So go to bernabyrna.com/glenn.

Hey, Glenn, after Charlie's memorial in 9-11, can we get a break today from all of the doom? Absolutely. AI is not in our control, only data centers, and that's not necessarily true either. I got tons of stuff for you that is really uplifting.

I'm getting into the American dream here in just a little while. Also, if you don't find fly fishing with Jake Tapper and Abozo, who's the governor from California, if you don't find that uplifting, I don't know how to help you. We're going to get into that as well. I'd rather have a fishhook in the eye than go fly fishing with these two. Anyway, but I do want to stop on this one more time. Because, you know, as I said yesterday, we are making the most important decisions of all of human existence right now. And I refuse to sit on the sidelines and say, well, I didn't pay attention to it, or, you know, I don't really know, or I don't have an opinion. We have to know, because honestly, this is going to go down to our souls. It is. You cannot drift into AI. Today, in Washington, Bernie Sanders and Steve Bannon are sharing a stage. The event is called the Pro Human Assembly, and it is put on by a group that wrote the Pro Human AI Declaration in March. My name, I signed that declaration. So is Bannon. So is Susan Rice. So is Ralph Nader. So is the, you know, the name of the lead singer of Radiohead.

This group actually asked me to go to Washington and speak today, but I'm recording history lessons for high school AP classes with the Department of Ed and PragerU all week. And I thought that was more important, at least for the near term. And so I didn't go. But for two years, I signed this a couple of years ago, the Human AI Declaration. And for two years, I have also told you that America has to build data centers, build the power plants to feed them. Wait a minute, what? We have to beat China to the frontier. So this week, I keep hearing the same question and I keep getting emails. Glenn, which is it? You can't sign a paper about keeping AI under human control and then cheer for the buildings. Yeah, I actually can. And the reason why I say this is because I know history and the reason is on a telephone poll in lower Manhattan in 1889 And it's one of my favorite history lessons. Okay, I actually I wrote a series on this.

And, you know, it's never going to be made, but it's a great series. Maybe I'll make it into a book. But in 1880s, the most famous inventor on Earth was Thomas Edison. He had bet everything he had on direct current. DC, low voltage. It would all be safe as low voltage, but it couldn't travel. You had to have a power plant almost on every block. So it wouldn't work. Then George Westinghouse came along with Tesla and something called alternating current, AC, which is what we have in our houses now. It could run at high voltage over long distances. So one big plant could light a whole city, and it was cheaper, it was better, but the voltage was deadly. So Edison goes to war, and not because he believed it was safer, although he did, but that wasn't it. I mean, he was a bad guy. He was a bad guy. He wanted to win. His company told the public that alternating current was a killer. An electrical engineer began killing dogs in a lecture hall at Columbia to show how fast it could stop a heart. Then he did it to cows and calves, and then a horse. Edison's own laboratory. He then pushed a bill to cap voltage so low that alternating current would be useless.
