College football is back, so Hilton called on me, the superstition concierge, to make your fan rituals a reality. Need a room to match your lucky number? We got you. Want to make sure our team doesn't wash your lucky jersey? Ooh, that smells lucky.

Hilton's unmatched hospitality can keep up with any superstition. Even a marching band wake up call at 555 in 55 seconds. Hit it! When you need a team that will do whatever it takes on game day, it matters where you stay. Hilton, for the stay.

We are doing the best we can to protect our kids. And yet, don't fear rebellion. Don't fear the mistakes. Parent through it, love through it. Make sure you're the parent that your kid will go to in trouble, not run from in trouble. And to be that kind of parent, you've got to not overreact about everything.

Priscilla Shirer (1:31)

Hello, JC Shirer.

JC Shirer (1:32)

Hi, Mom.

Jennie Allen (1:32)

How are you today?

JC Shirer (1:33)

I'm good. I'm not going to be on my phone this whole episode.

Priscilla Shirer (1:35)

Well, I would appreciate it, sir. We are filming a whole podcast.

JC Shirer (1:38)

Well, I've been working on, you know, putting my phone down and being present in the thing, because I'm not going to be a regular Gen Z person.

Jennie Allen (1:44)

Oh, you're not.

JC Shirer (1:45)

Nope. I'm going to be different.

Jennie Allen (1:46)

You're going to be different.

Priscilla Shirer (1:47)

So that means you're going to put boundaries and margins around how much you're on your device.

JC Shirer (1:52)

I didn't go that far. I said, when I'm at the table or in settings with other people.

Priscilla Shirer (1:57)

Yeah, conversations and stuff like that.

JC Shirer (1:59)

But if I'm by myself, Instagram is going to get scrolled.

Jennie Allen (2:03)

Understood.

Priscilla Shirer (2:04)

Understood.

JC Shirer (2:05)

It's the process. We can't go too far.

Jennie Allen (2:07)

Can't drop the gun.

Priscilla Shirer (2:07)

That's good to put some boundaries around it when you're conversating.

JC Shirer (2:11)

You know, it's working. It's getting there. Good.

Priscilla Shirer (2:13)

And we're going to have a good conversation today.

JC Shirer (2:15)

I'm actually so excited.

Priscilla Shirer (2:16)

Because my friend is here and I'm excited to talk with her. First, we have an opening song. Yeah.

JC Shirer (2:22)

Yeah.

I'm feeling four. I'll give you four.

Priscilla Shirer (2:27)

I can't get more than four.

Jennie Allen (2:28)

Nope.

JC Shirer (2:28)

You got four.

Priscilla Shirer (2:29)

Like when the quick beat start, I can't get you to bring us up to that.

SPEAKER_1 (2:31)

It's about to go to two and a half.

Jennie Allen (2:33)

All right.

Priscilla Shirer (2:33)

Let's stick with four. You ready? All right.

JC Shirer (2:34)

Let's go.

SPEAKER_1 (2:35)

Hey. Hey.

JC Shirer (2:38)

Hey. Hey.

Jennie Allen (2:41)

Hey.

Priscilla Shirer (2:41)

Hey.

Jennie Allen (2:42)

Hey. Hey. I'm so excited for this.

JC Shirer (2:44)

Let's get to it, Ma. Let's get to it.

Priscilla Shirer (2:46)

Welcome to Full Fledged, everybody. Homey Podcast, where we sit in my childhood home, his grandparents' home, in our pajamas, and just relax and have conversation with good people.

JC Shirer (2:57)

Good, really good people. You should introduce, I guess, and see. Yes.

Priscilla Shirer (3:00)

This is my friend. She is my blonde friend.

And I have known her, well, since you were very little, so at least two decades, I mean, at least, since all of our babies were little, and a lot of ministry this woman has done. But I've just watched her navigate all the stuff that God has entrusted to her in the lives of her family. She has a great husband, but also just stewarding what God has given her to do in ministry. And she's done it very well for a long time, had lots of integrity. So I'm happy that I get to have you and my son in the same room to have this great conversation. Let's welcome Jennie Allen.
