You're listening to The Hammer and Nigel Show.
Dan Levy (0:04)
Barguments, arguments, arguments, arguments.
Guy Relford (0:09)
Come on.
SPEAKER_4 (0:15)
Ha ha!
Jason Hammer (0:17)
This may be my favorite segment of the week. I'm Jason Hammer, Guy Relford, the gun guy, filling in for Big Nige, and joining us now from Chicago, not Eugene Levy's son, Dan Levy.
Our Dan Levy has no problem with Shane Gillis jokes. OK, so stop sending him mean e-mails.
Dan Levy (0:40)
Not only that, but I get those even. I usually get an e-mail or two for him about once a week. But man, they have been vile this week. Wow.
Jason Hammer (0:48)
So for those who don't know what we're talking about, Eugene Levy, great actor, comedian, his son, Dan Levy, who is on the show Schitt's Creek, spelled with a C there. Let me make sure I keep it FCC friendly.
He came out and was just totally appalled by Shane Gillis and his monologue on Saturday Night Live. Well, he happens to have the same name as a certain Chicago DJ who coined barguments and you've been getting all the nasty e-mails.
Dan Levy (1:16)
I've got a lot of them. Like I said, usually since he's gotten famous and on that TV show, I'd say at least once a week I get, I've tried to reach out to his people and try to be like, Hey, is there someone I get job proposals from that guy?
I get all kinds like, Hey, like things like, Hey, I'm about to come out to my parents. You have any kind of like any advice? I'm like, you're talking about the wrong guy. And I've never gotten any kind of every time I reach out, nobody's ever gotten mad to me. And then this week, especially all that Shane Gillis stuff, man, people were very upset. And when people are upset, they don't just send regular e-mails. The entire content is in the subject line and there's nothing in the body and filled with F words and things that are misspelled that I'm like, all right, this is too much. It's too much.
Jason Hammer (2:02)
The filth, flarn, flarn, filth was flying.
SPEAKER_4 (2:05)
That's what was happening right there.
Dan Levy (2:07)
You're darn tooting, you're darn tooting.
Jason Hammer (2:09)
What is Barguments?
Dan Levy (2:11)
Barguments is just what it has in the name. It's arguments you have with your buddies at a bar, barbecue, barbershop, anywhere where you're doing the whole would you rather, your Mount Rushmoor, the goats, all those kinds of conversations, all with no real answer but just a fun time. I created a podcast with it. You can download it anywhere that you get a podcast. Fun YouTube chats with it as well as videos, and then a really good Facebook group where we're constantly launching Barguments there. I like to come on here every week and launch one at you. If you're down for one, I got a good one for you.
Jason Hammer (2:42)
Let's rock and roll.
Dan Levy (2:44)
This one actually was born in a bar. It's a TV show called Cheers.
And one of the ones they had in there was, what's the sweatiest movie ever made?
Jason Hammer (2:56)
I remember this episode. And Guy, we were talking off the air.
This was such an early episode of Cheers that, like, Shelly Long was still a stranger to the regulars in the bar.
Guy Relford (3:08)
Yeah, she was looking around the bar like, who are these weirdos as they're having this great conversation about the sweatiest movie. And she's waiting apparently on her date, who walks right in and answers the question and nails it, which made for a really hilarious sketch on in there on Cheers. It was a fun episode.
Jason Hammer (3:27)
So let's dive into it. Let's put our own spin on it.
Dan Levy (3:29)
Also a little asterisk here. Whenever I think of any kind of argument to launch or even do any kind of argument, I will put it in my head and go, would Norman Cliff argue about this at Cheers?
Alan Green (3:40)
That's kind of like my little barometer.
Dan Levy (3:41)
So this is really hitting pretty well.
Jason Hammer (3:43)
What do we got? Give me your answer for sweatiest movie.
Dan Levy (3:47)
Well, the goat out of all of them is by far the predator.
Alan Green (3:51)
Oh, here we go.
SPEAKER_4 (3:53)
Yeah.
Dan Levy (3:57)
Son of a bitch is dug in like an Alabama tick.
Alan Green (4:01)
You're hit.
SPEAKER_4 (4:02)
You're bleeding, man.
Guy Relford (4:03)
I ain't got time to breathe.
