You're listening to The Hammer and Nigel Show.

Dan Levy (0:02)

Barguments, arguments, barguments, barguments, barguments, barguments. Come on.

Nigel (0:13)

My name is Nigel.

Dan Levy (0:16)

Oh, thank god, it's Friday. Jason Hammer right over there with a very special guest on the hotline for barguments.

Jason Hammer (0:23)

Radio host, voiceover extraordinaire and a man that's probably mourning Mike Ditka today, Dan Bass Levy.

Dan Levy (0:34)

I saw the picture you posted of you and Coach on Facebook. What was he like in person?

Not always the nicest person. I saw some very aggressive... I was just thinking about it. Every interaction I had with him was one that you would go, I did not see that coming.

Very, like I said, the first time I ever saw him was at... There's a sports station out here in Chicago called The Score, and it was a 10-year anniversary, and they had it at the Hard Rock Cafe here in Chicago. And I remember going backstage because I was an intern at the time. And into the back entrance, Ditka literally walked right in. And then I went to shake his hand, he shook my hand with that bear claw and slapped me on the shoulders so hard, and moved me aside and walked into where everyone was screaming for him. And I was like, I think I was 21 And I was like, that was the hardest I've ever been hit by anybody.

Jason Hammer (1:26)

And you know what? That's pretty much as advertised, though, right? Like, that's who Ditka appeared to be. And it sounds like that's who he was.

Dan Levy (1:34)

He saw something in his eye. He had this weird look in his eye, and he just kind of moved forward. And he was just, you knew when he was in the room. There's very few people I've been with where you know when that guy is in the room and when he leaves, he was that one.

Jason Hammer (1:47)

That's awesome. All right, for somebody that's new to this little nickel and dime pony show, tell us what Barguments is.

Dan Levy (1:54)

Barguments is just what it says in the title. It's kind of arguing with your friends at a barbecue, barbershop, or any place where you guys have the usual, would you rather Mount Rushmore's, goats, anything of that nature. I made a podcast out of it because it's hilarious. And you can download it anywhere you get your podcast. There's a fun YouTube for it as well.

And a Facebook group page that is growing in all kinds of arguments at any day or night. And anybody can join that one as well. And for the fun of it, I come in on Fridays and I lob a argument up to you guys. And if you're down, I got a good one for you. Do it.

Jason Hammer (2:28)

Let's do it.

Dan Levy (2:30)

Name a song, gentlemen and lady, with an animal in the title.

Jason Hammer (2:35)

With an animal in the title.

Dan Levy (2:38)

In the title.

Jason Hammer (2:39)

Okay. I think we got a lot to work with here. Get us going, Bass.

Dan Levy (2:44)

The one that I would say is all time would be Survivor's Eye of the Tiger. Yes.

Jason Hammer (2:58)

Now, Dan, I had heard somewhere.

Dan Levy (3:01)

As Goats would say, that is a goat. I don't see any argument of any song being better than that. It's never gotten old to me. There's only a handful of songs where I've said I've never heard it too much. That's the one where I don't think I've actually heard it too much.

Jason Hammer (3:13)

If I could talk to the animals. Is that Alan Green off the top rope?

Dan Levy (3:18)

Yeah.

Jason Hammer (3:19)

Green off the top rope just chiming in right there.

Dan Levy (3:22)

There we go. I like it.

Jason Hammer (3:24)

Dan, correct me if I'm wrong. I think I heard this somewhere. The original name of that song was The Lone Survivor instead of Eye of the Tiger. But the band was called Survivor, and they thought it would be confusing if they were called Survivor, and the song was called Lone Survivor, and it'd be a big cluster, you know what?

Dan Levy (3:43)

I'd never heard that before.

Allison (3:45)

Yeah.

Dan Levy (3:46)

I never heard that one either, but that sounds pretty accurate.

Nigel (3:50)

Lion Eyes.

Jason Hammer (3:51)

Lion Eyes.

Nigel (3:52)

Yes.

Jason Hammer (3:53)

Another one. Miss Allison, the floor is yours.

Allison (3:59)

Also another classic, but I don't think it's ever overheard, and I think every generation knows it. It's the center of the birth of rock and roll. Hound Dog by Elvis.
