You're listening to The Hammer and Nigel Show.

Jerry Lopez (0:05)

Barguments. Barguments. Barguments.

Nigel (0:14)

My name is Nigel. Jason Hammer is out. Jerry Lopez is in.

The fearless leader of this segment, Bass out of Chicago, who came up with the concept of Barguments is out today. So it's just going to be me and Jerry and Allison, but we're going to have Bass's input. And I can't wait for this one. This is a pretty good one. So Barguments, how would you guys best describe? Barguments is like when you get together at a bar and you do it like, you know...

Allison (0:48)

Like a Mount Rushmore of topics or just stupid debates you have with strong opinions about things that really don't matter.

Jerry Lopez (0:55)

There's no right answer.

Nigel (0:57)

Beer fueled stupid debates about Mount Rushmore. Who's on the top of Mount Rushmore in terms of beers or drinkers in movies?

Allison (1:08)

Which AI. Nigel picture was the best?

Nigel (1:12)

So since we officially kicked off the autumn season, the fall season, the word fall works better because of the concept we've come up with here. The best scenes in a movie involving a dramatic, violent fall.

Allison (1:32)

I will say I really like this topic, Nigel. This was a good one. I don't know.

Jerry Lopez (1:35)

I thought mine was good. And then the other one started coming in. I'm like, oh, these are really good.

Allison (1:39)

I don't know why, but falling is so funny to me.

Nigel (1:42)

Hammer came up with this one. I'll give him that.

Allison (1:44)

OK.

Nigel (1:45)

He's out today.

Jerry Lopez is filling in. So I base. This is base's concept. Base is our radio buddy out of Chicago who gets together with his buddies and podcasts, bar arguments, again, debates, ridiculous debates you'd have at a bar. So base will just start out. OK, since the fall season is here, the best scenes in a movie involving a dramatic, violent fall. Base. I love this. It's a good one. Have you guys seen the movie The Other Guys? Oh, favorite Highsmith and Danson at the beginning, which is played by Samuel L. Jackson and The Rock.

They're like really cocky cops that they jump off a roof chasing the bad guys. But like but like their stereotypical movie type cops that they they're invincible.

Jerry Lopez (2:46)

The A-Team.

Nigel (2:47)

They're right. Right. And they're chasing these bad guys off this 20 story roof.

Jerry Lopez (2:52)

They they stop at the ledge and look at each other and both go aim for the bush.

Allison (2:58)

Yeah. Yeah. Here it is. Jump and aim for the bush.

Nigel (3:00)

I got it right here.

Jerry Lopez (3:17)

Did not hit the bush.

Nigel (3:19)

You're watching that scene. And it's a comedy with Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg. And those guys obviously had bit cameo appearances.

Jerry Lopez (3:27)

What a great movie that was.

Nigel (3:29)

It's really, really funny.

Jerry Lopez (3:31)

You've never done a desk pop night?

Nigel (3:33)

Pulls out his gun and shoots in the office.

Jerry Lopez (3:36)

But they gave him a wooden gun.

Nigel (3:39)

They land so horrifically and violently on the sidewalk. It's so absurd to think that they thought that they could have even survived that. And that's an Adam McKay movie, by the way, who did Anchorman. So the other guys.

Jerry Lopez (3:57)

I'm going to watch that this week, and that's a good one.

Nigel (3:59)

Now, Allison has a real good one. Yeah. We, again, the fall season, the best scenes in a movie involving a dramatic, violent fall. Do you want to set this up, Allison?

Allison (4:12)

I feel like we can't talk about falls without talking about the goat of physical comedy, Chris Farley. And you'd think maybe I'd go more Tommy Boy, but I'm going to go Black Sheep.

It was another movie Chris Farley did with David Spade. And basically, Chris Farley is like the embarrassing little brother of someone who's running for mayor. And so he's going around town and trying to convince people to vote for his brother. So he's at the top of this cliff, and he sees a cabin at the bottom, and he's like, you know what? Every vote counts. So he'd take a little trip down the mountain to get another voter for his brother.

Nigel (4:49)

Vote for Donnelly!

Jerry Lopez (4:54)

Every vote counts.

Allison (4:57)

There it is!

Vote for Donnelly! And it just keeps going.

Jerry Lopez (5:08)

And you know he did the machine.

Nigel (5:13)

Thank you, little roots.
