Welcome to the Total Soccer Show and USMNT Weekly, it's our regular foray into all things, men's national team. Today, we're looking at the players who've made summer moves and those who could still find a new home in the coming weeks. So, how good is MiddlesBros' new American contingent? How good will Strasburg be for Gio Reyna? Gather around the podcast fire, everybody, and stick with us, we're getting into it. My name's Ryan Bailey, joining me today, oh look, Joe Larry's here, hi Joe.
**Joseph Lowery** (0:49)
Hey Ryan, I love the image of a podcast fire. I hate weather chat to open a podcast, but it's delightfully overcast right now in the Valley of the Sun, which makes me feel like it could be sort of the time of year. For a fire, it's probably only going to be 95 or 100 instead of 115 today, so I'm really excited about that. Can I drop a fire take? Like not a, well, you know what I mean, related to actual fire.
I think s'mores are like a bad dessert. I think they're just not a good dessert. I don't know if there's any opposition to that here, maybe I've shared that before, but deep in my heart, I just don't think they're very good.
**Ryan Bailey** (1:21)
Okay, we need to spend some time on this, Joe Larry. What component do you not like? The graham cracker, the chocolate, the fire itself?
**Joseph Lowery** (1:29)
I love a good fire. I think I had a few pyro tendencies as a child.
I like a good graham cracker. I really do like a graham cracker. Probably more than most.
**Graham Rutherford** (1:37)
I like a good graham cracker. I want to dive into it so much.
**Joseph Lowery** (1:43)
One time I called my mom while she was gone. I was home alone. Although my cousin was over, he's older than me, and we were trying to light a fire in the basement, basically. Anyway, setting all that aside.
She said you can do it outside instead, so that's what we did. It was great. I think graham crackers are great, although they need to be softened somehow. I think at their best, they're either crumbled or dipped in chocolate milk or something like that, almost like an Italian cookie you would dip into coffee or something. Marshmallows are extremely mediocre, and the chocolate that at least Americans put on them is rubbish.
**Ryan Bailey** (2:14)
I don't know how I feel about that, because I feel a lot of the situation around the smore is the circumstance you're in. You're on the fire. Maybe you've got family and friends. I think it's environmental as well. But I'll tell you what, Joe, we have a Discord, patreon.com/totalsoccershow, where we can have such discussions and we will continue them there. We'll also say hello to, you just heard his voice, Graham Ruffin back from a weekend vacation. Graham, hello.
Hello.
**Graham Rutherford** (2:37)
Yeah, so as Gary Neville calls it, a mini retirement. I think that's what he refers to as. We actually had a fire pit at the villa we were staying in, so a very bougie version of what I think we were talking about. Which is more like a sort of campfire fire. But I do enjoy a fire pit with a fan to take away the smell of the fire. I don't want anything that is actually sort of outdoorsy. I just want the impression of something outdoorsy to make me feel better about myself.
**Ryan Bailey** (3:04)
You're like a screensaver of a file.
**Joseph Lowery** (3:06)
Exactly.
**Graham Rutherford** (3:07)
Actually, that's a step further. Yeah, could have just done that.
**Joseph Lowery** (3:10)
You see those YouTube videos with one hour long, it's just an hour of a fire, of a digital fire. It has tens of millions of views and I was wondering, who was watching that? Graham. Graham's watching it all of these 10 million screens. It's that simple.
**Ryan Bailey** (3:22)
There we go. All right. No Taylor Rockwell, today it is the three of us to discuss USMNT Weekly. We are off to a very pointed and USMNT Weekly focused start, of course, on this episode. One more time, patreon.com/totalsoccershow is the best way to support us as well, if you'd like to do so. And thank you very much to everybody who does so. All right. We are talking transfers, done and maybe soon to be done on this here episode.
Graham, while you were in Spain sunning yourself or fanning smoke away from yourself, we, Joe and I, discussed Gio Reyna to Strasbourg a little bit. How are you feeling about that deal?
