More on that coming up, but first, a company called The 90 announced a piece of smart jewelry called The Gem that is designed to help women keep an eye on real-time UV exposure. The company was founded by Stacey Salvi, who spent eight years with Fitbit, both before and after the Google acquisition in 2021 The round necklace includes sensors that measure UVA and UVB rays. This data changes throughout the day as a person moves in and around sunlight. The Gem should provide a relatively accurate assessment of exposure, no matter if they are walking outside or sitting near a sunny window. This data is sent to an app, which creates a personalized skin profile. The profile will provide actionable advice regarding personal UV thresholds, sunscreen reminders, and sunlight exposure windows.
Turning to the world of gaming, one of the best games of 2023 is finally coming to mobile in the US. Dave the Diver will be available for iOS and Android devices this August, after releasing in China earlier this year. This version looks like a port of the entire game, and not some kind of stripped down mobile experience. For the uninitiated, Dave the Diver is a bizarre and addictive game that mixes underwater exploration, rogue light mechanics, and restaurant management. During the day, players explore an ever shifting underwater world, hunting for resources, upgrades, and ingredients for the restaurant. At night, the gameplay shifts to restaurant management. This includes hiring people, creating new dishes, and of course, running a successful dinner service.

The human body and the vacuum of space aren't a good match. Without protection, space would have its way with you.
You'd be unconscious in around 15 seconds. Within minutes, you'd be dead. So you want to be wearing the right suit. Astronauts on NASA's Artemis III and IV missions will wear a new one designed by Axiom Space with an assist from Prada.
Underneath the bulky white spacesuits we're all familiar with, astronauts wear a tight-fitting undergarment called the Liquid Cooling and Ventilation Garment, LCVG.
Think of it as the spaceman's Long Johns. While past versions of this inner suit look like the world's most expensive pajamas, this new version more closely resembles a sleek superhero outfit. While the new suit's Marvel aesthetics may help with NASA's marketing and therefore funding, its intricately woven tubing is more practical. Without it, you quickly die of heat stroke and organ failure. So where does Prada come in? Axiom suggests the Italian fashion house's expertise in engineered knitting and manufacturing capabilities were big draws. But it's probably no coincidence that Prada's on-stage representative at the unveiling was its chief marketing officer. For better or worse, people are more likely to care when they see something that looks more like Steve Rogers' suit than a pair of tubed up long underwear.
