We got a special guest joining us here. Normally, he comes by on Thursdays, but he just happens to be a creature of the North Side right now. Tony Samuel joins us. How are you, my friend?
**Tony Samuel** (0:10)
I'm great, thanks for having me. This is beautiful out here. Thank you for doing it.
**Hammer** (0:13)
So normally, we talk shop when it comes to local government. Today, we're gonna have some fun. I want you to have fun with us. We're gonna play a round of Are You Okay With This, okay? Happy to do that.
**Tony Samuel** (0:23)
I also came for the clodgies in my shot of bourbon.
**Hammer** (0:27)
No, just kidding, not today.
**Tony Samuel** (0:30)
But yeah, happy to play. Okay, you two, are you okay with this? Passengers had to restrain a pilot. Let me repeat that. Passengers had to restrain a pilot who was experiencing what appeared to be a seizure for about 40 minutes during a flight. Co-pilot was able to safely land the plane, and the pilot getting medical attention. Here's one of those passengers.
**SPEAKER_3** (0:52)
Pilot is incapacitated. Aircraft is being flown by the co-pilot. The plane started swerving violently within a few moments. One of the flight attendants entered the cockpit frantically, and a few moments later, he was dragging one of the pilots out of the cockpit. It was really horrifying. My shelf and about four others worked to get him under control.
It was a fairly strenuous 40 minutes of keeping him down.
**Tony Samuel** (1:21)
Has anyone on this plane happened to be a pilot? Kind of like the pilot's okay, by the way, just so everybody knows. But I'm wondering, are you okay with civilians restraining the pilot, making sure he's okay? Would you be one of those civilians that did that hammer?
**Hammer** (1:38)
Yes. If my options are the pilot freaks out behind the wheel and I'm too afraid to do anything, or we restrain him and let the co-pilot do his thing, I'm team restraint. Like this is a whole new ball game now. We are in this thing together. If we've learned anything from the Heroics of Flight 93, the passengers on the plane, when you guys work together, you control what happens. So I'm good with this, Tony.
**Tony Samuel** (2:04)
Yeah, this happened every time I used to fly Spirit Airlines. So I'm good with this.
**Hammer** (2:09)
No, just kidding.
**Tony Samuel** (2:10)
But it wasn't the pilot, it was just random passengers that were probably drunk or strung out.
**Hammer** (2:15)
Exactly. You never want to see the medical crew on a plane, let alone going to the cockpit.
**Tony Samuel** (2:21)
That's right. I'm OK with this, just like you Hammer. And anything that keep that plane in the air and land safely, if you've got to do what you need to as a passenger. And thank God there was a co-pilot on that plane. Hammer, I'm curious as to your thoughts on this next story. Dolly Parton has opened up her first truck stop called Dolly's Tennessee Travel Shop.
I'm going to play the jingle for you. Okay, this is the jingle for Dolly's new Tennessee in Travel Shop. And I don't know if it's going to be stuck in your head or you're going to beg for Allison to stop playing it. Go ahead, Allison.
And Hammer, I know you're a big Dolly fan. Are you okay with the jingle? Are you okay with the new truck stops from Dolly?
**Hammer** (3:49)
I'm okay with it, but I feel like she missed a few opportunities there. There are so many places where she could have rhymed, stop in and look at these.
And she didn't do that. Like, come on, as you pointed out before, Nige, some of the best jokes we learned as Gen X kids growing up were about the chest of Dolly Parton.
**Tony Samuel** (4:08)
Yes.
Yes. How did Dolly Parton get two black eyes? She went jogging without a bra.
**Hammer** (4:14)
Sure. Right.
**Tony Samuel** (4:14)
Of course. That's standard.
**Hammer** (4:16)
And I feel like Dolly's got that sense of humor where she could make fun of herself. I mean, she put an always love you reference in there. We could have got a big rack reference. Am I right, Tony?
**Tony Samuel** (4:25)
That's right. We need Dolly to do something for Leo's here.
Oh, yeah. That'd be nice.
**Hammer** (4:32)
Maybe Leonardo DiCaprio can do that same jingle for Leo's here. I don't know. But great moments in kind of Dolly Parton history.
**Tony Samuel** (4:40)
Kind of Dolly Parton history?
**Hammer** (4:42)
Well, our friends at There I Ruined It, one of our friends of The Hammer and Nigel Show, There I Ruined It, did a little AI magic.
