Are you really okay with this?

Allison (0:05)

Are you okay?

SPEAKER_1 (0:06)

Everything's gonna be okay.

Allison (0:09)

Are you okay?

SPEAKER_1 (0:10)

Yeah, I'm fine.

Nigel (0:12)

I'm pretty far from okay. Are you okay with this? On the Hammer and Nigel Show.

Okay.

Hammer (0:22)

On the way, Beer Sample Friday.

On the way, Ask the Gun Guy. But first, we're gonna play a round of Are You Okay With This? And the First Lady of The Hammer and Nigel Show, Miss Allison, is back and you've got the hosting duties. Let's go.

Allison (0:38)

All right. So last night was a big night for the Milwaukee Brewer fans. The Brewers swept the Dodgers in advance to the World Series, and the Brewers play-by-play voice, Jeff Levering decided to pay tribute to legendary Brewers announcer, Bob Uecker, on his final call last night.

SPEAKER_1 (0:55)

A strike away from the fall classic.

The 0-2 pitch, lined into the gap in left center, Turio back, he makes the catch. The Brewers win the pennant. Oh my God, the Brewers win the pennant.

Allison (1:12)

Hammer, are you okay with that?

Hammer (1:14)

Yeah, I'm all right with this. But if you're a baseball fan, you know exactly what he did there. Did you catch it, guy?

SPEAKER_1 (1:22)

Did you catch the call? No.

Hammer (1:24)

Okay. So Bob Uecker, Mr. Baseball, Brewers announcer for a long time, passed away a couple years ago.

One of the funniest dudes ever. Used to be the star of Mr. Belvedere on TV, was a guest on Late Night all the time. He was also the announcer in the movie Major League.

Nigel (1:42)

Oh, best thing ever.

Hammer (1:43)

Harry Doyle. So this is what Harry Doyle, the fictional character played by Bob Uecker, said when the Indians won in Major League.

Nigel (2:01)

He slides.

Hammer (2:07)

The Indians win it.

And he's in the booth, and there's a bottle of beam and he's got a beer up there. He's jumping up. Oh, my God, the Indians win it. And we got that moment last night. Let's hear a little mash up of it.

SPEAKER_1 (2:25)

The Indians win it.

Hammer (2:26)

The Indians win it.

Nigel (2:27)

Oh, my God, the Indians win it. The Brewers win the pennant.

SPEAKER_1 (2:33)

Oh, my God, the Brewers win the pennant.

Hammer (2:36)

And, Guy, we were talking off the air, like, I'm not a Brewers guy. I'm a Cubs guy. But, man, Uecker was the best.

Nigel (2:45)

Uecker was the best. And I'm sorry, what is absolutely immortal. And I think about every time I watch a MLB game is just a little outside.

Hammer (2:55)

Right.

SPEAKER_1 (2:55)

And people still say it all the time.

Nigel (2:57)

People still say it all the time. And everybody knows exactly what you're talking about. That's Bob Uecker. And listen, I'm the farthest thing from a Milwaukee fan. I've been in that park three or four times, but always to watch my Cubbies. But but I have no problem with homage being paid to Bob Uecker. I think that's pretty cool.

Allison (3:14)

So do you guys do delivery apps with foods like DoorDash or Uber Eats?

Hammer (3:19)

Only in extreme situations, like I'm kind of a cheap ass sometimes. I will go pick it up. But if I've got a project going around the house, if we've got something going on, we'll DoorDash something.

Nigel (3:30)

Okay. Never. Not once.

Allison (3:32)

I was going to say, I don't really peg you as a DoorDash. You're a guy.

Nigel (3:34)

Never have. Never will. Nope. Not happening.

Allison (3:37)

Well, some restaurants don't like the extra delivery fees that these apps are charging, so they just opt out. So you can't just do the delivery service app. And one of those is the In-N-Out Burger Joint, which is huge on the West Coast. And so now people are going to Facebook Marketplace and looking for food brokers. So they're asking people, random people on Facebook Marketplace, to basically illegally door dash, pick up their food and hopefully bring it to their house.

Are you guys okay with this?

Hammer (4:08)

Now, keep in mind, if this is how it's happening, the restaurant's still getting their full cut.

Allison (4:14)

Sure.

Hammer (4:14)

Because the way I understand it, when it's an official door dash or Uber Eats partner, the restaurant loses a little bit, and some of it goes to that. So the restaurant's still getting their full cut here, but yet fatties are still going, look, I don't have the time to go to In-N-Out Burger. I don't want to sit in the drive-thru line at some other place. I want to go on the dark web. I want to find a soldier of fortune. I want to find somebody that can bring me my food from a place that's not supposed to.
