**SPEAKER_2** (0:20)
Okay, another primary election night all over the country. Maine is getting the most attention. This guy, Graham Plattner, for the Democratic nomination for US Senate. I mean, the left-wing hardcore progressives are all in on the guy with the Nazi tattoo. Oh, whatever.
He didn't know what it was. He covered it up. He lived with it for years and years. He knew exactly what it was. This guy, this self-confessed historian, this guy, Graham Plattner.
**Nigel** (0:52)
Reminds me of that scene from Mitchell and Webb. You ever watch that British comedy sketch comedy Mitchell and Webb?
**SPEAKER_2** (0:58)
No.
**Nigel** (0:58)
I'm sure you've seen the meme. Hans, have you noticed the badges on our caps? They've got little skulls on them. Hans, are we the baddies?
**SPEAKER_2** (1:11)
So everybody's keeping an eye on me. I'm kind of curious about that.
That Plattner guy is going to come out and he's going to run against Collins there in November. I think he'll get boat race by her. Oh, absolutely. She knows how to run a campaign.
**Nigel** (1:27)
Well, especially he's got so much baggage. He's a demented lunatic.
**SPEAKER_2** (1:32)
And you're not just talking about the Nazi tattoo.
**Nigel** (1:34)
No. Yeah. No, it goes way, way past that.
He's sexting other women. He's describing, treating his body as like an amusement park in a summer outhouse.
**SPEAKER_2** (1:47)
Porta potty, as it were. Now, there's also something going on in Alaska that I bet you didn't know about. Dan Sullivan is accusing Dan Sullivan of rigging a Senate race.
**Nigel** (2:01)
This is hilarious.
**SPEAKER_2** (2:02)
Two Republicans with the same name on the primary ballot for the Alaska Senate seat. And one Dan Sullivan says the other Dan Sullivan.
I'm already confused. They're intentionally confusing people. Here is the current senator, Dan Sullivan, making his case.
**SPEAKER_1** (2:22)
This is serious stuff. When people are going, Oh, there's two Dan Sullivans. Isn't that funny?
No, it's cheating. And his whole purpose of running is to confuse Alaskans and make them think, Alaskan voters, that somehow he's me. Then when he filed his campaign logo, his letterhead, his website, all had my campaign logo that I've had for 13 years.
**SPEAKER_2** (2:49)
So is he cheating or are you OK with it?
**Nigel** (2:52)
No, I'm not OK with this.
**SPEAKER_2** (2:54)
There's first of all, there seems to be any laws.
**Nigel** (2:57)
Well, if you're utilizing somebody else's campaign material, you're absolutely breaking laws. But then also, like it seems like this would be a fairly easy thing to solve if they both legally have the same name. Somebody's got to go by a nickname. You got Dan Sullivan and then Dan Goodboy Sullivan or something like that.
**SPEAKER_2** (3:15)
You know, is that what it's going to look like on the ballot, though? How in the world would you tell? How would you know? They're both Republican.
**Nigel** (3:22)
Maybe it'll be like a Dr. Seuss thing. You got thing one and thing two. OK. And you know the difference because one is a one and the others are two.
**SPEAKER_2** (3:31)
I'd be confused if I went up to the ballot. I'm already confused now.
**Nigel** (3:34)
Sure.
**SPEAKER_2** (3:34)
A high school in New Jersey is making their freshmen hike 55 miles on the Appalachian Trail.
Now, this is a 50 year anniversary. Okay. Not an anniversary. It's gone on for 50 years. It's a tradition there at St. Benedict's Preparatory Student. And students hike for five days. It builds character. Here is the administrator. Are you kidding me? 55 miles on the Appalachian Trail. The kids in New Jersey.
Here is the administrator, Glenn Cassidy, talking about the program.
**Glenn Cassidy** (4:09)
The teams generally hike independently.
**SPEAKER_6** (4:11)
We'll learn how to work together in different ways and finish the task at hand.
**Glenn Cassidy** (4:17)
Yeah, the idea is that they have to rely on one another. The only way we can get through this is if we work together and make it there. When life gets difficult, it's something you can refer back to. You know, there's a lot of rainy days in life.
**SPEAKER_2** (4:29)
As Hammer says, I take the elevator to the first floor and we're on the second floor. I don't know that I could, you know, hike 50 miles across the Appalachian Trail. Are you OK with this high school making their students do this?
**Nigel** (4:44)
I'm fine with it. I think a lot of kids need more fitness opportunities. But that said, how do they know that these kids are physically fit enough to make the 55-mile hike? Like, how would they be sure that some of these fat ass kids don't die of a heart attack on the way?
