Botox, onybotulinum toxin A, prevents headaches in adults with chronic migraine. It's not for those with 14 or fewer headache days a month. It's the number one prescribed branded chronic migraine preventive treatment.

Prescription Botox is injected by your doctor. Effects of Botox may spread hours to weeks after injection causing serious symptoms. Alert your doctor right away as difficulty swallowing, speaking, breathing, eye problems, or muscle weakness can be signs of a life-threatening condition. Patients with these conditions before injection are at highest risk. Side effects may include allergic reactions, neck and injection site pain, fatigue, and headache. Allergic reactions can include rash, welts, asthma symptoms, and dizziness. Don't receive Botox if there's a skin infection. Tell your doctor your medical history, muscle or nerve conditions, including ALS-Lugarix disease, myasthenia gravis, or Lambert-Eaton syndrome, and medications, including botulinum toxins, as these may increase the risk of serious side effects.

Are Skyr yogurts really good for you?
Thanks for asking.
If you've ever strolled down the dairy aisle of your local grocery store, the chances are you've come across these little tubs of Icelandic goodness. Skyr yogurts has really grown in popularity in the last five to ten years. But is it really as healthy as it's touted to be? Or is its reputation down to marketing hype? What exactly is Skyr? It's a traditional Icelandic yoghurt, which is said to have been brought to Iceland by the Vikings when they settled there over a thousand years ago. It's marketed as a yoghurt, but is in fact technically a soft cheese. Skyr's uniqueness lies in its manufacturing process, which gives it that thick and creamy texture, similar to fresh cheese. Skyr is made from milk that is strained three times more than regular yoghurt. After the whey is removed by ultra filtration, the milk is so thick that a spoon stands up in it. A culture of lactic acid bacteria is then added. According to a 2016 article in The Guardian, which referred to Skyr as a Viking superfood, the process from cow to supermarket shelf takes three to four days. As you can tell, Skyr has very few ingredients, and that's part of its charm. How did it become so popular? Its introduction to the international market is attributed to Icelandic entrepreneur Siggy Hillmarsson, who recognized the untapped potential of Skyr in the United States. His brand Siggy's was a game changer, emphasizing its natural, no-nonsense approach to yoghurt. It resonated with health-conscious consumers looking for an alternative to the sugar-laden yoghurt options on the market. Skyr has since found a devoted following, celebrated for its creamy texture, and seen as a versatile ingredient in cooking and baking. It's used in smoothies, as a spread, or even as a base for savoury dips, showcasing its adaptability.
What are the nutritional qualities of Skyr? It's packed with proteins, which are good for muscles. To make it dense, the milk is drained and separated from the whey. That's why it's so thick and rich. On average, Skyr contains 12% protein, compared to just 3% in regular yoghurt. It also contains very little fat, making it a popular choice for those on a diet or looking to cut body fat. Unlike low-fat yoghurt, plain Skyr isn't a highly processed food. There are only 2 ingredients and no additives. Still, that doesn't mean you need to over-indulge. After all, Skyr is a dairy product and contains 73 calories per 100g serving, according to the US Department of Agriculture. You should limit consumption to 1 or 2 servings per day, max. Be wary of portion sizes as it's often served in large containers. You should also opt for plain, unflavoured Skyr if you want to get the best of its health benefits.
