Are Republicans ACTUALLY Discouraged?; Guest: Chair of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, Paul S. Atkins on Trump 2.0's Ongoing Successes!

The Breitbart News Daily Podcast

August 3, 2026

The lamestream media is claiming that Republicans are actually pretty discouraged these days and that a GOP butt-kicking is an inevitability in the 2026 Midterm elections. Is this true? Our ornery host, Mike Slater, doesn't think so!
Speakers: Mike Slater, Chris, Kevin, Paul Atkins

Topics: Politics, News

Welcome to Breitbart News Daily. Thanks for being here. We do three hours on SiriusXM Patriot. We give you two segments here for free. We talked with the head of the SEC, and he brought us some stuff that I've never thought of before. That's not good, but now they're fixing, which is great. It actually ties in nicely to what we did here in the first segment, which we'll play for you now, about Republicans being discouraged, and we shouldn't be. There's amazing things happening in the government that doesn't get attention, but we'll do the best we can to give it the attention it deserves. But here's our opening.
We have a question for you, which is, what is the best way of giving for young boys?

**SPEAKER_2** (1:15)
It's kind of a very serious question, so it would probably take me a month to write a dissertation. Gladiator will teach him about honor.

**Mike Slater** (1:24)
It's gladiator, gladiator. I think he's in Spain, so he doesn't ask that. Gladiator will teach him about honor.

**SPEAKER_2** (1:30)
And the importance of lafabilia.
Master and Commander will teach him about loyalty and fealty. You know, there are a few movies in the things that I've done, which can have a profound connection to a young man. But I would say that those two are very important. But there's also a thing called Cinderella Man, which is about somebody who's facing the worst kind of situation, but it still goes forward. Because they go forward, they end up achieving what they had set out to achieve.

**Mike Slater** (2:10)
Fealty is a great word. Fealty, the promise of duty made to a king or to God. Loyalty, allegiance, faithfulness comes from the Latin word meaning faith or trust. Fealty, never use that word anymore. I just want to throw that out there. Actually, we'll do a little segue here. I'll put this for a segue. These are all principles and virtues that a one Tony Fauci was lacking. Fauci has his testimony to date. I think I read it at 8.3 in the morning. That's early. It's usually, like the Senate barely even goes to work on any day of the week, let alone this early in the morning. We have Jeffrey Tucker's on tomorrow. He's one of the top COVID analysis guys that are out there. So he'll be here tomorrow to recap it. And he's reading through the entirety of the diary. We may have some insight into where this thing came from. Hopefully they, well, maybe they'll talk about it today. Hopefully they're not. I don't know. Maybe we'll find out where this thing came from. But here's what we got so far. So RFK Jr., a while ago, he said, we produce the Fauci diaries. Not a while ago, a couple of days ago. We produce the Fauci diaries to Rand Paul and Ron Johnson so they could see the light of day. The starkest impression from reading the diaries is the striking contrast between what he was saying privately and what he was saying publicly. Okay. So a lot of that, hopefully, that comes out in the thing today. But it came from RFK Jr. We produce the Fauci diaries. I was just saying all day, I say, where'd they get the thing? How did they find Fauci's diary? So RFK was a part of it. So RFK broke into Fauci's house, checked under the matches, looked in the nightstand. I don't know where he found it. No, that's not where it came from.
But check this out. RFK. So RFK hates Fauci as much as Rample. RFK wrote a book called The Real Anthony Fauci. So RFK has got a lot of problems with Fauci. Remember how much RFK was against COVID? They almost canceled RFK. Yeah, RFK. Because he was giving that one speech about vaccine passports and he mentioned Anne Frank and all. How dare you mention Anne Frank? And then his wife had to distance herself from her husband. I found that to be lacking fealty.
So they tried to destroy RFK during COVID. Let's not forget that. So RFK said, it took us eight months to dig these out of 11 separate servers where they had been sequestered. So this is Hans Manke. Hans is like the top Russia gate guy debunking all that nonsense. He said, we still do not have a full forensic report detailing the precise methodology, file locations, deletion time stamps, encryption status, or recovery process. But the general outline now emerging is that Fauci created the entries on his government office computer, which is not improper. He may then have printed them for his own use, transferred them to a personal device, or deleted the original files. His problem was that once he used government systems, he left a recoverable digital trail. Local copies may have been deleted while backups, archived data, or secondary systems retained them. Those records were eventually recovered through sustained efforts by the new HHS leadership. So he wrote them on government. It's like he wrote down these notes on a government computer.
