Tonight we're at Hunt and Fish Club talking with Anthony Scaramucci. Most people know him for his famous two weeks in the Trump White House, but he's so much more than that. He's the founder of SkyBridge Capital, a fixture on Wall Street, and one of New York's most resilient comeback stories.

On Wall Street, we are front-stabbers. In Washington, they're back-stabbers.

So for me, to go into politics, that's it. You're going right into the volcano. But you could fix it.

Dan Nathan (0:13)

No, but don't run away from that for a second. Let's go down.

Anthony Scaramucci (0:16)

He's talking politics and shit, running for reelection to my marriage. I'm just trying to stay married, man.

Guy Adami (0:22)

New York City, the finance capital of the world. It has more ambition than one tiny island can handle.

Dan Nathan (0:29)

And it's not a bad place to get a bite to eat either. For three decades, we've made it here on the markets, calling our shots and always speaking our minds. But the best conversations happen across the table.

So pull up a chair while we break bread with founders, CEOs and creators, all in the iconic spots that define the greatest city on earth. This is Standing Table.

Guy Adami (0:58)

Presented by Apex Fintech Solutions.

Dan Nathan (1:08)

Tonight, we're at Hunt & Fish Club talking with Anthony Scaramucci, a personal friend of mine who also happens to co-own the joint. Most people know him for his famous two weeks in the Trump White House, but he's so much more than that.

Guy Adami (1:21)

He's the founder of SkyBridge Capital, a fixture on Wall Street, and one of New York's most compelling comeback stories. In 2015, he co-founded Hunt & Fish Club, a tribute to 1960s New York and old school hospitality.

The vibes are immaculate, making it the perfect place to share a meal and catch up with old friends.

Anthony Scaramucci (1:44)

So take the Negroni to talk about, all right?

Guy Adami (1:47)

I'll have a Greg Huss Martini up, just a little dirty with ours.

Dan Nathan (1:50)

Johnny Black on the rocks, thank you. I want the people to know something before we even get started. In our world, our Wall Street world, for a lot of people, if somebody makes $1 more than them, they resent that person. You are somebody in a rarefied air, very few people, that champion other people's success.

Anthony Scaramucci (2:08)

I'm going to like this show, Nathan.

Dan Nathan (2:09)

No, but tell me I'm wrong.

Anthony Scaramucci (2:11)

I think that's the number one thing. No one has ever worked for me. People work with me. Yeah. Right? We're together. Not to get overly philosophical, but there's only two things you can give your kids.

Celebrate the successes of your friends and do something you really love because you're only going to be here visiting. What does Mel Brooks say? Relax, none of us are getting out of here alive.

Dan Nathan (2:29)

You got that from your family, though. That's how you grew up. So talk about your childhood.

Anthony Scaramucci (2:33)

I did get raised like that. I got raised really by two very strict Italian Catholic women, my grandmother and my mother.

My father raised us, but it was more tangential because he was always working. But traditional stuff, you know, share, play nice. You know, you ever see this as a kid?

Dan Nathan (2:53)

Of course.

Anthony Scaramucci (2:53)

Southern Italian, you're going to get hit with something. Wooden spoons coming at you, somebody could throw something at you, you could get hit. But I mean, this was, you better cut it out. That was like the warning from your grandmother.

Dan Nathan (3:04)

And the very southern Italian, the non-Italians, the Sicilians, it's even worse. He does all the time, he's saying, you're Italian and he's like, I'm half Italian, half Sicilian.

Anthony Scaramucci (3:13)

Yeah, well, you see, that's correct, because my grandmother would say Sicily was an island off the coast of Africa, okay, because she was Napoli Don.

Dan Nathan (3:20)

Yeah.

Anthony Scaramucci (3:20)

Okay, the Sicilians were like in a whole different world.

Dan Nathan (3:23)

That's 100% true.

Anthony Scaramucci (3:24)

He knows that, right? He knows that. It was an old school family, and they were dedicated to hard work, and my dad had a lot of integrity. You know, he paid his bills. He had a great line. He's like, if you can't afford the price of the ticket, don't go to the movies. You remember that expression? And so even though when I got to Wall Street, it was like a fish out of water. I don't know if that was like that for you, Guy, or you. I didn't know what the hell was going on. You know, there was a lot of hazing in the 80s, a lot of pushing and shoving, but there was also, you know, my first job interview. I think I've told people this. I was in 100% poly for my first job interview. So I literally looked like a funeral director.
