And I look at like Ruben Gallego, for example.
Ruben Gallego is a senator who's a mistaken senator. The Gallegos also used pack money to travel to St. Barts for Sydney Gallegos' boss's birthday. Oh my God, what a weird thing. And to Miami for Sydney Gallegos' own birthday. Yeah, and he's doing this all in the back of the donors of the Democratic Party who, you know, they want communism and such. His wife at the time was likely to give birth in a day, and Ruben Gallego served his pregnant wife with divorce papers.
**John Ashbrook** (0:35)
Right, he did.
**Josh Holmes** (0:36)
She was blindsided.
**John Ashbrook** (0:38)
Meanwhile, he's asking his campaign donors to pay for his Super Bowl ticket.

American energy is growing. With a renewed focus on American oil and natural gas, we're rebuilding our industrial strength and driving investment. Energy demand is rising, and the United States has the resources to meet it. Here's the challenge. If we can't build the infrastructure to move that energy, pipelines, transmission lines, and power plants, Americans won't feel the benefits. And while projects stall, China moves faster. Not because America lacks energy, but because Washington's permitting system is outdated and broken. Energy affordability depends on getting energy where it's needed, when it's needed.
Yet critical projects remain stuck for years in delays and endless litigation. We have the energy. We have the workforce. Now it's time to build.
Let's secure American energy leadership for generations to come. When America builds, America wins. Pass Permitting Reform Now. Learn more at permittingreformnow.org.

This is why you listen to the Ruthless Podcast, because nobody else would ask that question. The only political podcast worth listening to is the Ruthless Podcast.
**John Ashbrook** (2:15)
It's time for our main event.

The Ruthless Podcast.

Good Tuesday to you. Welcome back to the Ruthless Variety Program. I'm Josh Holmes, along with Comfortably Smug, Michael Duncan and John Ashbrook. Left to right across your radio dial.
Fellas, I have to first off give you a big hat tip. Last week, I was out all week enjoying myself with my family. And you held it down. And you held it down in a way that everybody found incredibly entertaining, amidst what I would say is a mixed bag of news.
Mixed bag.
**John Ashbrook** (2:56)
Both foreign and domestic.
**Comfortably Smug** (3:00)
And like rapidly shifting.
**Josh Holmes** (3:02)
It didn't feel great. I tried to remove myself as much as I could in the daily news cycle, but what I did see, it didn't look awesome.
It looked challenging. And yet you did it with humor and grace, fellas.
**Comfortably Smug** (3:18)
That's how you get through it.
**Michael Duncan** (3:19)
Thank you.
**Josh Holmes** (3:19)
It was well done.
**John Ashbrook** (3:20)
It's always good, clean fun when you're having good time with your boys.
**Josh Holmes** (3:23)
That's right. A couple of cocktails and you talk about things you don't understand. That's what we do here at the Ruthless Variety Program. I kid, I kid, we do understand because there's a lot going on, some of which is in politics, others is just sort of interspaced in our cultural relevance. I have a confession.
**Comfortably Smug** (3:46)
I think I know where this is going.
**Josh Holmes** (3:47)
I got a confession to make.
**John Ashbrook** (3:49)
Okay. Should we put up the curtain and...
**Josh Holmes** (3:52)
Yeah. I mean, I feel like it deserves it.
**Comfortably Smug** (3:54)
I don't think God forgives this.
**Josh Holmes** (3:56)
He might not. I watched a lot of soccer.
**Comfortably Smug** (4:00)
Yep.
**Josh Holmes** (4:01)
I watched a lot of soccer.
And I will tell you, as a lifelong soccer hater, it pains me deeply to say this. I still believe it's not an American sport.
**Comfortably Smug** (4:13)
Okay?
**Michael Duncan** (4:14)
I'm sorry. I'm just appreciating this moment.
**Josh Holmes** (4:17)
But I will say...
**Michael Duncan** (4:18)
I'm letting it wash over me.
**Josh Holmes** (4:19)
The World Cup is very entertaining.
**Michael Duncan** (4:22)
Thank you.
**Josh Holmes** (4:23)
It is very entertaining. And the Americans are dominating right now. And it's the same thing with the Olympics. Like I'll get up in the morning and watch the curling, which seemed like it was on like two thirds of the Olympics, it was the curling. But I will watch that and cheer for the United States of America no matter what. And so when our team comes in and starts dominating this group phase, which I've learned a lot about all of this, I get excited about it.
