This is the Six Figure Home Studio Podcast, Episode 88 You're listening to the Six Figure Home Studio Podcast. The number one resource for running a profitable home recording studio.
Welcome back to another episode of the 6 Figure Home Studio Podcast. I am your host, Brian Hood, and I'm here with my co-host, with the most co-host.
Chris Graham (0:28)
Keep it! That stays in the podcast.
Don't you dare edit that, James.
Brian Hood (0:33)
Chris Purple Shirt Graham. How are you doing today, Chris?
Chris Graham (0:37)
I'm fantastic, Brian. How are you?
Brian Hood (0:39)
I'm good, man. My wife asked me the other day, she said, is there some reason that Chris decided on a purple shirt as his thing?
Chris Graham (0:46)
Well, here's the thing. I was like, I gave it a try, and I was, because I was like, one, I don't want to make choices.
Brian Hood (0:52)
Right, you Steve Jobs did.
Chris Graham (0:53)
Yeah, I want to Steve Jobs it, and then so that I can go into work and be singularly focused on the work that's at hand.
Brian Hood (0:59)
But why the purple shirt? That's the question that we have here.
Chris Graham (1:01)
Well, part of it, I used to wear gray shirts, and then I was like, I had one purple shirt, and I was like, I look great in this shirt. And I was like, I like it a lot, and it stands out. And if you see a dude in a purple shirt, this happened to us at NAMM. I'm the only guy in a purple shirt, and you're like, oh, there's Chris Graham. I can see him from across the room. So it was like a branding choice, but here's the thing. When I first started doing it, the podcast wasn't popular.
And then the podcast got popular, and I kind of got trapped, and I kind of want to stop, but I don't think I have a choice now.
Brian Hood (1:31)
That's great. I think Old Navy took after you. They put out some limited edition shirt for 4th of July. Apparently, this is my wife's knowledge. She's the fashion guru of the household. She said that apparently Old Navy puts out a limited edition shirt every year for 4th of July. By the way, we're recording this podcast on 4th of July, because Chris and I never take days off.
The one this year was actually purple, because it's a blend of red, white, and blue or something.
Chris Graham (1:59)
That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard. First of all, purple is a royal color, and America is not a royal country. We don't do that stuff around here.
Brian Hood (2:06)
They're just trying to be inclusive of all Americans.
Chris Graham (2:08)
I guess so.
Brian Hood (2:09)
From all backgrounds.
Chris Graham (2:10)
Who says to themself, Oh, I can't wait for the Old Navy limited edition 4th of July t-shirt this year?
Brian Hood (2:18)
Well, they only made 1,994 of them to celebrate the starting year of Old Navy or something. So this is all secondhand knowledge. I don't know any of this stuff.
Chris Graham (2:26)
So I'm just, I'm just, I would have gone with 1,976 personally, but that's just me, a true patriot, you know, 4th of July, baby.
Brian Hood (2:34)
Did you mean 1,776? Because we sure weren't founded in 1976
Chris Graham (2:39)
Oh yeah, that was our bicentennial. I'm in 1770s.
Brian Hood (2:44)
Oh my God, can we get on with the show, my dude?
Chris Graham (2:47)
That's embarrassing.
Brian Hood (2:48)
Actually, we got a banner more. Let's banner. We got an increased banner by 37% this quarter.
Chris Graham (2:52)
We do.
Brian Hood (2:52)
Yeah. What's new in Chris Graham land?
Chris Graham (2:54)
Okay, so there is something new. One of our most popular episodes is the negotiation episode, which is episode, I don't know, go look it up yourself.
Brian Hood (3:01)
It's episode 30
Chris Graham (3:03)
Okay, thank you, Brian.
Brian Hood (3:04)
And it's called 11 highly effective negotiation tactics any audio professional can use. Very popular episode.
Chris Graham (3:10)
It was. We got a lot of feedback on that one. I used some of that technique with Amazon yesterday because yesterday, yesterday, and we ordered a new mattress and it was supposed to get here on Tuesday. And Tuesday is also trash day. So me and my wife are like, well, we'll throw away the old mattress on Tuesday day and then we'll get the new mattress on Tuesday afternoon from Amazon. But Murphy of Murphy's law overheard this conversation and he said, I don't think so.
