Today is September 28th. Welcome to New York Rangers News Today. AI-powered coverage of your squad. I'm Corey with the story. All right, big news from the New York Rangers. Alberts Šmits has officially made the team's opening night roster. Heading into training camp, he had a good feeling about it, and it looks like that confidence paid off. Then there's the attitude he's bringing. Šmits describes this moment as the start of a long journey for his career.

That kind of mindset is crucial as he steps into this next chapter. Also, it's worth noting that making the roster is a significant achievement for any player. This just shows how hard he's worked to earn his spot. Got to respect that grind. On top of that, this is his chance to showcase his skills at the highest level.

Fans and teammates will be watching to see how he contributes early on. That's a lot of pressure, but it could also be a huge opportunity. So, it'll be exciting to watch how Šmits develops with the Rangers as the season kicks off.

Definitely looking forward to seeing what he brings to the ice.
